I know that when you die you go to hell and somehow leave after doing something, but are there any other penalties?
Do you lose any money, experience, or items?
(I bet this has been discussed before, but oh well.
-
I don\'t think peole should loose money when they die. What sense does that make? I mean, i guess you could have to pay for the funeral or whatever. Experience makes a bit more sense, but it can get really irritating. I like the idea of a hell, that takes up a bit of time to get out of. It makes it so people don\'t want to die, so they won\'t do anything stupid, but at the same time you don\'t really loose anything from it.
-
uuhhh ok, so you die, but then come back to life in the same exact body? You should die and your body stays there and if you can get back to it before thieves take your stuff (which would raise their bounty) then you can keep it. I stole that idea from Dransik.
-
I\'ve been told that when you die, you go to another plane. Like a \"death Plane\"
I guess thats kind of what you mean by hell.
-
Link, that idea of having to recover your body, was what UO used. While I do like the idea, I think it might cause some pvp issues. It\'s a good idea, because it encourages teams and parties, because if you have someone with you that you can trust, they can recover your stuff before any thief can. The idea falls through, however, when PS\'s no pvp policy is taken into consideration. You can\'t kill people. So what do you do instead? Train a group of monsters on someone, let them die, come back and loot their stuff. It\'s a good thought, but I don\'t quite see it working well in this game.
-
I like that idea, yet I don\'t like it. It is realistic, but its torture.
Besides, the death plane will take too long to pass through to allow you to get back in time.
-
i dont think hell would be a good idea.... :(
and thats all i have to say! :D
-
i think a death plane is a great idea. maybe there would be certain items you needed to get to get back to your body and the world of the living. once you have these items you would dissapear from the death plane and your soul would return to your body. not in perfect health of course. and to solve the problem of body camping by PC\'s or NPC\'s, you could be invulnerable for about 30 seconds or so. and to prevent people from abusing this, make it so you cannot harm anyone during these 30 seconds.
-
I like that idea Aelya. Plus, that gives clerics a possibility to resurect people from their bodies. The only problem is that if it takes too long to get out of the death plane, there\'s going to be a lot corpses laying arround waiting for their soul back. The 30sec invul could still yield problems though. For example, if there\'s a huge troll guarding a corridor or something, and you can\'t figure out a way past it, and you can\'t kill it, you could do the die and resurect bit, and then book it past. Granted the time in the death plane would probably make this really not worth the effort, but the potential for exploit is still there.
Invisible corpses would solve the camp problem, and the cluttering problem, but then clerics won\'t be able to bring people back. Or maybe they can, but they have to know the person, and communicate with them via spirit-talk or something to arrange it.
Another possibility would be to have people respawn at a temple, rather than at their corpse. But again, this keeps resurection from being possible.
-
Maybe when you succeed in the death plane again your body fades away, and you appear at the nearest explored temple. This way, you can be resurrected, there is no camping, and exploring all the temples becomes something you will really want to do.
-
and what about us diabolis? we hate temples. where would we be taken?
-
*shudders* Yikes! I think what he meant was near the last dungeon/battle zone whatever it was we were exploring. Or I\'m wrong and he wants us Diaboli to have an extra panic attack every time we \"die\" ;)
-
if i remember right, i read that the gods betrayed the diaboli race. thus it wouldnt make much sense to have them ressurected in temples.
-
Maybe you could be resurrected at the nearest graveyard :D
-
I\'m a blessed warrior (Paladin). How can I go to hell? I think there should be a heaven or a \"hell deluxe\" for us players of the \"good\" type. :P
And how can Diabolos go to hell? I thought they liked heat :D I think evil-minded persons should go to hell, and good-minded people should get deluxe-treatment like free massage and the ability to ressurect where they please :D.
One thing that would be really cool was if the players who have died ressurected with wings. \"Good\" players with white wings and \"evil\" players with black ones. These wings should dissappear after a day or so. (No, you cannot fly with the wings. It just shows that you have died)
-
From what I understand, there is no \"heaven\" or \"hell.\" There is just the death plane, and when you die, you have to go there and wander around for awhile or something until you ressurect.
And so what about the diaboli? They don\'t have any type of religion? No dark temple or evil tower or some mysterious place to spawn at? I dunno, just something I came up with :P
-
here\'s another question, would you be able to communicate from the death realm to the real world? perhaps a seance spell might be required...
Jessyn
-
If weapons are taken from the warriors, I think the spells should be removed from the mages to make it fair. So, communication through spells should be out of the question.
The main question is:
What will be in the death plane?
Puzzles?
Battles?
Mazes?
What do you do to get out? What do you do while you\'re inside?
