Title: Death Realm races

Whould anyone be interested in a race to the gate of the death realm (or anywhere else that someone suggests and is better)?

I was thinking something like all players pay a 50-100 tria entry fee (more/less?) to a *trusted 3rd party* who will wait at the finish line and pays the first across the line all the money. The death realm seemed like the best place because of the danger of falling.

I\'ve been thinking about the very same thing for a while now ... the Death Realm makes for excellent racing grounds indeed.

The \"trusted third party\" bit could be tricky, but it\'s definitely a neat idea :D

Racing would be OOC?  Not neccisarily, I don\'t think.   Surely our characters need some excersise, especially when the NPC\'s are down...

I\'m in for the race, to watch or run or whatever.

Ok, so it seems a fair few people are interested. I\'m  out till I get new version of client, though (I\'m on Linux, and I\'m too scared to build from sources).

If you hold one before then, let me know how it goes. I\'m wondering if it would be good to make a longer course, and then have a practice lap to show people where it goes.

A race in the DR is stricly OOC, IMO.  (but I tend to think of the current state of the DR as completely OOC...only when recovery from death is a rare and miraculous thing can death be treated at all seriously.)  However, there is nothing wrong with this, as long as everyone involved acknowledges that it\'s OOC.

The lag of all those people together will make it very interesting indeed.  I will have to watch that race and the hordes falling off into the abyss as they stop for a corner and their bodies keep right on going.

Sounds cool.  My best time so far is 2 min 54 sec.  (Yes, I have timed it :P).  I\'m sure others can beat that.  But one wrong move and it might be hopeless.  I often get stuck in those broken part of the bridges.   X(

PS: Best time was around 2 mins...that was because there was a bug when I fell...accidentally clicked /unclick...ended up real close to the portal...:D

hmmm, not a bad idea, but now that my stamina stopped regenerating no matter what I do, ..., I wont be part of it.

As for if this would be ooc, that is for the persons who put the event together and the racers to decide I would think. We could so do it IC, it would not be that hard at all. For example...

Zorbels looks at Stronith and smiles as she prepares herself to take off....

Stronith gives Zorbels that \"I am going to beat you look\"

Zorbels smirks at Stronith and thinks \"as if\"

On you marks .... get set.....GO....

Zorbels scrabbles to get ahead of the racers

Stronith leaps forward and get a head start.

Zorbels resist the urge to trip Stronith.....

You might lose out on time by typing but over all it can be done in character. You can even have those wonderful green boxes called short cuts prepared. ;)

Anyway please let me know if there is a race I would love to be involved. :D
