Title: Correct version of Planeshift?
Post by: monty on November 30, 2005, 02:28:39 am: I try to log in to planeshift but it says \" you are not running the correct version of planeshift for this server\" it was working fine yesterday. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game i also ran the updater. can someone please tell me what to do.

At this stage the latest client is not available as a Linux binary, perhaps even MAC, (not sure about this).

As a Windows user, run the updater you should be fine.

Well, I also got that on a Mac computer. So i ran the updater.app and got updates in several files. So i tried psclient.app and got \'you are not running the correct version pf PS on this server.\" So I ran updater.jar (for mac users) and for the heck of it tried pssetup (has not worked for many moons) and it worked. I set the music as off and exited that. I then ran psclient and got on. And for several minues manuveured around Hydlaa and to the arena where I met a mercenary that I had killed with one or two swings earlier today, I could not damage after the changes.
Also the fonts on the people were huge. Hard to read in a crowd of people. Also my info box did not give pp info.
Then the computer crashed.

I have the same problems running the game on linux. The games says, that it is v0.3.012, the installer says that this is the newest version. But when I try to connect to the server, it says \"You are not running the correct version of planeshift for this server\". What do I have to do to play the game?

Post by: DaveG on December 01, 2005, 05:09:57 pm: The new version is still called 0.3.012. As acraig said, there is no Linux package yet. You could build from source using the dates on the page acraig posted, if you want.

Looks like there will be support for the updater soon, and a webpage that that makes compiling as easy as posible. But keep patiant and we will do everything when we have time :)

Post by: Sinbad the Sailor on December 02, 2005, 12:49:05 am: When I try updating- it trys all the mirrors and then says \'Ran out of mirrors!\' and lists all the files that failed to update (which is all of them!) I\'ve tried fiddling with the mirror active id in the updaterconfig.xml with no success...

Post by: Nilrem on December 02, 2005, 12:51:17 pm: Perhaps not all of the mirrors have the upgrades, and the ones that do are, for some reason, temporarily unavaiable, just keep trying after a while, you\'d succeed eventually.
