Title: Password-protected sleeping bug
Post by: Astrochess on December 07, 2005, 08:49:40 am
Computer type: Powermac G5 Tower
Mac OS Version: 10.3.9
Processor: Dual processors, 2Ghz, G5
RAM: 512 Mb
Video Card: ATI Radeon 9600XT 128 Mb VRAM

Planeshift runs (y/n): Y
Average FPS: 80 FPS
Platform-specific bugs encountered: When I put my computer to sleep using by studio display\'s sleep button, the monitor turns off as normal, but when I wake it up again, I can\'t see the password dialog. The game is drawn over the layer with the dialog, I think, because I need to exit Planeshift to access it. In the meantime, the computer keeps going to sleep about every 30 seconds (I didn\'t time it.).

Requesting bug fix.

Hrmmm, not sure how this\'d work exactly. Have you tried typing the password anyway and then hitting return? Or using Command-Tab to switch to another app (which\'d probably pop up the dialog)?

Are you running Planeshift full-screen?  If so, I\'m not really sure that there\'s anything we can do to help you at the moment.  It\'s not really a bug, more of a lack of \"Hide\" feature.

Yes, I am using Planeshift fullscreen. I have tried typing in my password and pressing return, but the computer keeps trying to go to sleep as if I had typed in nothing at all. Planeshift keeps intercepting my keyboard and mouse input. Command-Tabbing does nothing. I am forced to quit Planeshift in order to see the password dialog. Exposé doesn\'t do anything, either.

The same happens to me when the display goes to sleep (without password protection) and PS is the foreground application. However I play in windowed mode. (1024x786)
