Post by: Mecoolandfun on December 11, 2005, 04:36:37 am
i am having problems with the green shortcuts bar. whenever i right click on it to change my shortcuts, this stupid error message comes up that says:

EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION at 0045F415

save diagnostic file?

yes        no

That\'s what it says. after i save the diagnostic file, it tells me to click a button to terminate the program.

what\'s going on?

please help.

I too experienced this problem once, I don\'t know what might have caused it, but, after loading again, it didn\'t happen.
I tried just now, and I\'m unable to reproduce it, but, it\'s true that, under certain conditions, this crashes happened.

It happened to me sometimes, but I have not managed to reproduce it when runing Planeshift in the debugger. The bug exists, but cannot be reproduced easily.

There\'s an old PAWS bug associated with typing into text edit fields that crashes the shortcut editing stuff (bug 1161 (http://planeshift.oodlz.com/bugtracker/bug.php?op=show&bugid=1161)) but this one may be new.  For now, you can just edit your shortcuts file manually if you really need to.  They\'re in data/options/shortcutcommands.xml (if that doesn\'t exits yet, copy shortcutcommands_def.xml and rename it).  The XML syntax is fairly obvious.  Just remember to start and end each command using a tag with the same number.
