In the area, where you are supposed to see a carecter, all I see is something like either a floating, featureless head, or a pair of eyes and nothing else, or a floating jacket, never the whole charecter.

Definitely sounds like something that a graphics driver update will fix.

another update, lol
*edit*
My system is totally updated. I tried again, and it was the same thing.

You\'re on Windows, yes? Right-click anywhere on the desktop and hit Properties, move to the Settings tab, and look under Display.

That\'s... a really low card. 4-8mb is just not going to work, if I\'ve researched correctly. I think you\'d need a much better graphics card to run the game. Have you been able to run any other \"heavy\" games, like MMOs or FPSs, or tried?
-
I\'ve never really tried downloading other games

Sadly I don\'t think PlaneShift is going to work with normal graphics for you at the moment. Perhaps keep it in mind when you upgrade your system, though :)
