Title: Mining and skills related.

Hi all,

My mining skill is currently 8, and in the same time period it took me to dig 50 diamonds another character dug 65 diamonds beginning at skill level 2, and ranking up to 3 in the process.

Not only that I dug my lot in a single session, while the other person needed to leave the dungeon after having dug around 40 and then returned to dig for a second session.

My question then is this. How is it possible for someone with a much lower mining skill to be able to mine at a considerably faster rate?

In real time the whole process took about an hour and a half.

Hi there,

The mining skill has perplexed me as well. It seems that I have as much luck mining with skill level 5 as I did with level 2. Also, I\'m not sure, but it seems that I find diamonds more rapidly when I\'m just about to rank up. Am I just going crazy, or is this for real?

I think that luck probably plays a major factor in mining diamonds since our current mining equipment and the low levels of most miners are not good enough. If you are having a harder time digging gold at level 8 than someone at level 1, then something is wrong.

With diamond there are times when I find 5 of them in a minute and then nothing for 10 minutes. So luck definitely has a lot to do with it.
