Title: Quick Question
Post by: Voldengrath on December 05, 2002, 11:13:41 pm
This is probably a no brainer,

But in the next release will they fix the sound/video errors, where you had to manually fix them yourself?

I\'m sure they did, it would take 2 seconds for them to fix.

Yes those are fixed.

Also remember we will have an auto-updater in this release, so we should be able to recover from dumb mistakes more quickly and more easily for everyone.

Don\'t worry, you will still have huge downloads.  :-)

bump

Your question was answered, there was no need to bump, There is no need to bump ever, it is useless spam, people open the post because they think there is something new in it, when there isn\'t.

hmm an updater? wouldnt that require another server or something?  my friend was trying to make a shard for ragnarok, and he said something about the updater needing to be connected to another server....

The updater is structured to use basically any web server as a mirror.  It gets the list of mirrors from the PS website and chooses randomly between them.

As to download size, we haven\'t built a distro to try it but if the last one was 50MB, I\'d say this one will be 80 or 90.

Lots of new stuff.  You\'re gonna die when you see it. :-)

Well you can\'t hold back a game so that people with outdated technology can play, If you can\'t get broadband then move into a city that can, I have 56k and don\'t complain about it.
