Title: Ruby rain
Post by: Talad on December 23, 2005, 04:55:02 pm
(news taken from main site)

Merry Christmas to everyone! Planeshift Team wishes you an happy and prosperous 2006.

We have a small present for you: a rain of ruby crystals has been predicted by scientists and it will be in game during all holidays!

To see the rubies you need this file (http://www.planeshift.it/download/naturalres.zip) . Substitute with the one you have in planeshift/art/things/naturalres.zip.

Good hunt!

Nice! Some old-school ruby hunting!
Ah, nostalgia :)

But this message doesn\'t appear to be on the main site yet.
edit: It is now :)

Happy holidays to everyone!

hello, I am currently not in my computer, 4% downloading ps in this one, so I could be wrong about what I will say

why isn\'t the holiday rain file included in the update files so people could just hit the update button and get it?

after the holidays just replace it with the regular file.

btw, just curious, are the rubys really there or is it just a replacement to the raindrop texture or something?

.... stupid Question : why isn\'t the file on the Update-Server?

Perhaps because it would take too long time to distribute changes to the mirrors and it was easier and faster to give a link to download one single file.

Me too. I have seen the rubies on the ground and have even collected a few, but I have yet to see the \"rain\".

Please, be so kind, and keep a few crystals for me, too. I\'m on vacation at my parents\', and they don\'t have suitable hardware to visit you, and get them myself...

I don\'t think there is any rain.

Well, Cyl, that\'s an idea. But you could have collected them for zeitvertreib instead. ;)
(But I think some people should have better things to do during the Christmas holidays.)

They really should have made the rubies appear in harder to find places, AND made them worth something!
That would have been a good x-mas gift!

Their worth is symbolic.

Assuming the wipe doesn\'t happen for a good long time, people will want to have rubies as gifts.  They\'ll be valuable simply because not everyone has them.

Well, i dont have one. Not only because it is strictly OOC but also because i am too lazy to get from Oja to hydlaa. So i will still like it as a gift :)

Post by: TheMinority on January 02, 2006, 04:11:32 pm
Look low when you walk, especially in corners. They like dark areas where shadows often fall.

I\'ve found over 40. I got bored one night. XD

Post by: Cyl on January 02, 2006, 06:17:22 pm
Actually there are about 10 around hydlaa plaza and the temple.
Title:
Post by: peeg on January 02, 2006, 06:46:10 pm
I collected nealy 500 of them, but not a single on at the plaza. oO
If your looking for them you should have a look underground ;)
