(Since I still have not seen anyone selling beer or any drinks of that sort at the tavern in Hydlaa, I have taken it upon myself to sell drinks there.)
Yes, the tavern in Hydlaa is under new management by Aradia and Exodussia. As of right now we are selling beer, red liquor, and water. We are slowly trying to expand our wares. Maybe now that we are there the tavern might become a bit more busy. Who knows? But the point is that you can indeed stop at the tavern for a drink.
Rules of the tavern:
1. Keep weapons sheathed
2. Don\'t take anything from the stock room
3. Enjoy!

You will be seeing alot of me in there (Lenek). As for the counter... Idk how to get there... and the mugs.. I think that those were from a while ago and don\'t spawn any more :(
-
I see... I\'ve seen many people jump behind there but I just can\'t seem to get enough height or something...
-
Ahh hello Aradia.. I am Valbrandr.. I run The Broken Door Tavern in Akkaio when I can.. Ill try to stop by to see how things are going from time to time.
-
I like forward to your visit, Valbrandr.

When I appeared in Hydlaa, barkeeper Maanar was the first person I met, and he was there quite often. I know that he is not able to continue his previous job regularly, and looked for apprentices to take it over. So I am happy that he obviously found some staff to keep the business running.
But still, this tavern is always known as owned by Kada-El. If it is true that she sold it completely, people may take a while to get used to a new name. Or are you rather employed by her, than the new owners?
[ edit: --stuff-- => staff ]

The tavern upkeep may fall into different hands through the seasons, but it will always be known as Kada-El\'s, for the ones who built it first. It is unfortunate that those aren\'t around these days, but it is good that the tavern itself, at least, never dies.
-
I shall always look upon the tavern as Kada-El\'s
If the name changes I will be out of planeshift.

Is and always will be, also there is a way to get behind the bar by employing special techniques.
-
Makes little difference as long as I still get my ale.
-
The name of the tavern is not changing. It wasn\'t sold to us, and we weren\'t necessarily employed by Kada-El. Our main goal is to serve drinks and make the place a bit more social again. It seems that alot of the time when I am in there it is empty. I just want the place to be more... ah... busy.
We are not \"taking over\" really, just trying to be a constant presence there... I hope nobody has any resentment towards the idea...

I am glad to see that the Kada El\'s tavern is getting people back into it. This was my favorite place to visit every time I was in the city. Good luck with your new job and I hope to see you soon (sooner than the well known soon(tm) :) )
-
hhmmm indeeed it has been way to empty when one was looking for a drink.

My intention was to suggest that you could tell to be the new staff hired by Kada to continue Maanar\'s previous job, as one possible story behind. But of course you are free to imagine your own.

Not at all! I\'ll love to visit you as soon as I come back from vacation.

My birth into PS was, I think, shortly after the disappearance of Kada-El. While this is regretable, it did not keep me from spending hours in the tavern, always \"grabbing an ale from behind the counter\" as I was too lazy to actually go back there.
I was in the tavern yesterday, and I must say that I am impressed with the way that you two are running things. It is far more enjoyable to be able to order a drink then to have to \"grab\" one. Also, I\'d never take money into account in my RP drinking before... I mean I\'d \"drop a few trias on the bar as payment\" sometimes, but I never actually did. It\'s more realistic to have a specific person to pay, and thusly more enjoyable.
Also, as long as you guys are in the tavern, there is always someone to RP with there, which is nice. I do hope that the legendary Kada returns someday, but in the mean time keep up the excellent work. You guys are helping to make PS a more emmersive environment.
-
The return of Kada would indeed be great :) I really hope that will happen someday.
Not sure how mysterious her dissapearance still is. Thought I heared something about her leaving a message somewhere. Still it is sad to have someone who ment so much to the community to have left.

I\'m so glad that people are liking what we are doing! I haven\'t met Maanar yet, but when I do get a chance to talk to him, I\'ll let him know that he can indeed keep his job as bartender. So far, this is the list of people working in the tavern:
Aradia: Female Ynnwn; basically working as manager and bartender
Exodussia: Male Klyros; basically working as manager and bartender
Chubar: Kran; part-time bartender
And Maanar\'s name will be inculded in the list if he so desires to continue bartending at the tavern.
-
Nice to see that you\'ve found a reason, Aradia. I wish you luck, and seems that people enjoyed your performance.
I recall that another day, another player wanted too to become a helper on the tavern, he even went to Ojaveda for some goods, and also talked to Maanar.
His name was Silven (I don\'t remember if he was a dermorian, but had a dermorian model) unfortunately, I haven\'t seen him since that day. But he showed dedication and I hope that he\'ll appear, someday, and you\'ll all form a nice group that reactivates a bit the tavern.

Thanks Nilrem, I appreciate it.
It seems that there are a lot of people willing to help with the tavern. I think that\'s great, but I\'d just like to make a few things clear:
1. I\'m trying to make this as real as possible. Everyone we hire will definately be paid for their work, just like a real job. I can\'t go hiring all of Yliakum... *wink*
2. So far we\'ve got 3, possibly 4 people bartending... I might take on one more person, but that will probably be all.
3. What we are actually looking for is 2 or 3 people to run some sort of game. I know there is some sort of dice function in the game and I would like to get some people in the tavern to run some sort of gambling games...
Thanks everyone for your support.

If I\'m in the tavern and I suddenly disappear, then reappear, then disappear, etc.... my internet has been screwing up very badly for me lately so, don\'t think that I\'m being weird or anything...
-
So far i have only ever seen an empty tavern...
-
how much liquir cost?
-
Despite the information Player Guide, a mug of ale was priced 5 tria by the game server; before they were available, it was usually assumed as 2 tria...
So if you don\'t insist in buying a mug, we often just played receiving something, and paying for it...
-
Not to say that you can get a mug of hot water anywhere for love or money... :( They just come in the water skins and the last time I tried heating that, it exploded.
-
Indeed, heating a \"Water Pouch\" is a bad idea! :D
But as you can read in \"My favourite drinks (http://www.planeshift3d.com/wbboard/thread.php?threadid=19629&boardid=15)\", there is also tea available, I even played making coffee once. Never underestimate our imagination!
-
Nice to hear of some people looking after the tavern!
You should probably count me out for a while, as I can\'t really be in-game enough to tend the bar. I hope to return to it some time later though.
