Title: Updater Issues
Post by: dragongirl_64 on December 30, 2005, 09:01:12 am
Ok ive read it! I read the READ BEFORE POSTING thing. The problem is its like in a language i dont really understand. I did everything but seriously i cant read between the lines here people! All i would like is for someone to tell me in plain english how to fix the problem. I tried the java thing, but i cant copy the file. I tried the terminal thing to pen the updater but it just closes straight away! I would be so so grateful if someone just told me simply what to do. Thanks in advance!

Download BatChmod (freeware) from http://www.versiontracker.com

Drag and drop the file or folder on it.
After giving the admin pass you can change the rights on the files/folder.

Hope this help.

something else wrong?
If you just do a info on the updater what does it say (read and write)?
Are you using the Updater.jar?
And have you change the java, see yhe post http://www.planeshift3d.com/wbboard/thread.php?threadid=14416&boardid=32&styleid=3&

1a to 2a-b.

The updater.jar is most be in a folder, try to run it from there.

If the updater starts its gone dl all the files again with your account right.
I know its boring to dl again but if not you have the administrator pass I cant help you.

You can\'t modify the DMG that Planeshift is on. You need to move the folder to your hard drive first. Just drag it to any old folder (Applications, etc) or to the Desktop. Then put in Updater.jar. ;)
