Title: Popups?
Post by: Kythag on January 01, 2006, 05:59:57 am
May I ask why the AOL browser is suddenly blocking popups from this site left and right?

Not completely against it, just wondering why.

Does AOL block all pop-ups? I had to give permission to Firefox for showing PM notifications, as well. Those are the only pop-ups that come from the forum.

Good call, Kary!  Thanks.  Glad that\'s settled.

Benicebenicebenicebenicebenice! :) We really don\'t need any more open hostility between players on the forums.

most browsers will automatically block the pm notification window automatically it seems.

a while back when i used to have a flood of pm\'s firefox, of which i always use, never blocked them, after an update though, it started doign odd things left and right, eventually i turned off then otification window and just glance at the main page for them though i dont get them nowadays :]

another odd thing is firefox keeps letting unwanted popups come through all over the place, sites i never got them form before. and its automatic update thing keeps messing around.

to be honest though, i\'d sooner set my keyboard on fire and turn catholic then use AOL browser xP

I prefer AOL to the IE browser, which should be renamed the Swiss Cheese browser!  I tested the Firefox browser, it doesn\'t block as well as the AOL browser.

I understand the hatred towards the company and the reluctance to use their product, but it works for me.

Bah, Firefox works well for me. Anything that gets through Firefox is blocked by NoAds, and if that fails, I just add it to the target list. simple as pi.
