[Masoj]
***Masoj steps onto a chair in the Kada-El Tavern. Leaders of many guilds are present
\"Due to the relentless stealing in our everyday lives by those people with evil and vile thoughts, I believe we should have a high council of the leaders of the good guilds of Yliakum\"
\"I therefore propose that the leaders, and ONLY the leaders of these good guilds, if they so wish, join the now created Golden Ring.\"
\"The Golden Ring will be a council where we will exchange information dealing with evil citizens and guilds in hopes of ending as much chaos and evilness as possible\"
\"So come to our meeting place and request a seat at the Golden Ring\"
[site: goldring.proboards85.com]
-
[Farren Kutter]
*Farren speaks up*
Yes, please join this council, it will benefit the good citizens of Yliakum greatly. I myself have joined the council and I know that for it to work we must have the support of more than a few guilds.
-
[Thoronador]
*By accident, a Dermorian wearing a strange robe, obviously a mage, sits in corner of the tavern and listens to Masoj\'s speech.*
\"Hmmm, nice idea\", he thinks. \"This \'golden ring\' can become an influential organization, if enough good guilds join it.\"
But suddenly his look gets concerned, while he keeps deep in thughts:
\"I hope they don\'t start any actions which are too aggressive during their \'quest\' againt the so-called \'evil\'. Otherwise they might cause a tension between the guilds, and this would probably -if it turns mad- result in the opposite what they wanted: (more) chaos.\"
And aloud he says into the direction of Masoj:
\"At least, these are good intentions, Master Ranger. But be careful what this organization will do in the name of goodness and virtue. It could turn out badly, if things go another way than you intended.\"
In a whisper he adds: \"I\'ll be watching you and your organization, just in case...\"
-
[Farren Kutter]
*Looks to Thoronador*
\"I know well the possibilities, and your words are true and also well marked by at least myself. I personally will keep an eye out for such actions. I desire not to rid the world of evil, but to more protect the world from it. This means by trying to maintain peace and order, whether by doing so we must bargain with evil factions or individuals. Chaos is our true enemy, and if chaos erupts from our actions, then we will have failed.\"
-
[masoj]
\"aye to that farren\"
-
[Sangwa Raumo]
Sangwa listens to the conversation and steps in from the shadows
\"A council of leaders that share information amongst each other in order to prevent chaos?\"
His expression becomes a pondering one. It stays that way for a few seconds and then turns into a smile.
\"That\'s actually a good idea.\"
-
but rn\'t you evil Sangwa? even if it is lawful evil...you still plan to dominate. how can we trust you?
-
[Thoronador]
\"Good question....
Well, he said it\'s a good idea. However, this does not neccessarily mean he or his guild will join the golden ring. I would be surprised if he does and even more surprised if you\'ll let his guild join.\"
Thoronador smiles and pauses for a few seconds.
\"If someone says \'It\'s a good idea\', it does not neccessarily mean he associates the same things with it than you do, especially if this one is \'evil\' and you are \'good\'.\"
-
[Sangwa Raumo]
Sangwa raises an eyebrow
\"You are claiming I\'m evil? What a ridiculous assumption. Even if my goal is to tame Yliakum, my methods, up until now, haven\'t been less rightful than yours.\"
Sangwa turns to Thoronador
\"How can you people plan on ending chaos if you cannot even the sort the confusion in your heads? Your perceptions of Good and Evil are chaotic themselves.
\"Maybe my associations do differ from yours, but my distaste for chaos is as just as your own.\"
He chuckles
\"Probably even less dubious...\"
-
[Thoronador]
Thoronador looks at Sangwa and shakes his head.
\"First, I do not plan to end chaos, but the guilds of the golden ring do. I hardly doubt I\'ll join this ring, because I don\'t want to take part in the disputes and skirmishes between the so-called \'good\' and \'evil\'.\"
\"And about you and your guild... I recieved some documents from a reliable source, and these documents, written by some of your fellow guild members, says the following:\"
Now Thoronador recalls the information from his memory and then begins to speak in a calm voice.
\"The Dark Empire is also the beggining of a destiny.
... (pause)
United by the virtues of honor, loyalty and glory the dark ones are gathered in their quest for domination and control over the elements.
... (another pause)
Our will and courage shall surpass every obstacle in our search for wealth, power and control.\"
While speaking this words, he keeps an eye on Sangwa. With a smile he adds:
\"Well, I think these words should be known to you, shouldn\'t they? As you see they state the goals of your guild. Maybe your methods are still lawful, maybe they are not, (I don\'t care that much,) but your guild\'s goals and intentions seem to be clearly evil to me. And don\'t tell me that this \'quest for domination\' is just for the public wellfare and safety of everyone in Yliakum.
In my eyes your guild is evil, and you, being of high rank within your guild, are surely evil, too, no matter whether you want to admit it or not.
But well,... that\'s all I have to say on this issue. May the members of the golden ring make up their mind on this for themselves; it\'s their organization.\"
-
[Sangwa Raumo]
\"I am evil for wanting power and control? Everyone wishes for power and control, over one thing or another. I\'d say my quest is less self centered than those of most people.
\"Your assumption up until now is void of any credibility. Just because you claim I\'m evil it doesn\'t mean I truely am. You can be wrong.
\"I\'ve had enough of your unpondered judgements, allow me to speak with those who actually belong to the ring.\"
Sangwa slowly blinks as faces Farren and Masoj, with analysing eyes.
\"I should have realised he wasn\'t part of this golden ring, given his avdersity to sense.
\"Or... do you actually agree with him? I\'m not sure this council will work if you can not even discern who you should council with.\"
The feline humanoid smiles, awaiting some kind of response.
-
[Thoronador]
\"Well, \'Everyone wishes for power and control, over one thing or another.\' Maybe that\'s true. And there would be nothing wrong with it, as long as it stays only \'one thing or another\'; power or control in measures is not evil. But if the members of the ring are wise enough to draw their conclusions from phrases like \'quest for domination\' -and I assume they are- then they will see that there are ambitons to control not only a few things but as much as possible. That is, as long as you can get away with it.\"
A short smile can be seen on Thoronador\'s face while giving Sangwa a glimpse, but just after a second it turns back to the stoic look he had before.
\"And just now the ring, a organization which wants to unite the good guilds, shows up and will possibly stem your (evil) guild\'s ambitions for domination sooner or later. Of course, if I were you -and I\'m glad I\'m not- I\'d try to prevent this by influencing this ring in order to keep it out of my way so that my guild could go on with its evil business without being recognised by this council.
Your idea is quite clever, I have to admit, but I guess it won\'t work.\"
\"Anyways, I think I\'ve already said more than neccessary, and seeing that one person here does not like my company, I\'ve decided that I won\'t bother you any longer. Farewell.\"
Thoronador goes to the innkeeper and gives some trias to pay for the refreshments he had. As he reaches the doorstep of the tavern he turns around and looks at Masoj and Farren for a second or two like he wanted to say \"I hope you\'ll make the right decision\". Then he finally walks out of the tavern onto the busy streets of Hydlaa.
-
Sengus who is leaning against a wall, close to the exit door, studies Thoronador as he walks by. He waits for him to be out in the streets before walking over to Sangwa and putting one hand on his shoulder.
Do you know him?, he asks Sangwa with a calm voice while pointing over his own shoulder in Thoronador\'s direction. He stays silent for a short while and then twists his head to face the exit.
He should be careful with whom he talks to like that, or he might end up lying in an alley somewhere...
Sengus then turns to Masoj and points his finger at him.
And you...You can hardly have experienced poverty to believe that all thieves are evil and wicked.
Sengus puts down his hand and walks up to the bar without giving any attention to the others.
-
[Farren Kutter]
\"Okay, okay, everyone stop for a second here... I myself above just stated that I myself am wanting to keep peace and order, to end chaos. I also said that to do so, I would be willing to make deals even with evil guilds. And if Sangwa\'s guild IS evil, but is also lawful, wishing an end to chaos, then shouldn\'t they be allowed to join the council? I believe Sangwa could be a great asset to our cause of ending chaos. Evil cannot be completely destroyed or contained, but I do believe that chaos can be. And if chaos is contained, who cares who is evil or good? Caring about such things would only lead to more chaos, in my opinion.\"
*Farren sighs heavily as he finishes his short speech...*

[this is not a board to bicker and argue in, it is to join us and have some useful suggestions]
-
[Yes, I agree, which is why I take no sides and give an explanation to end the arguing... Hopefully]
-
(Sorry, I was just playing Sangwa\'s role. I don\'t see at as bickering since me and Thoronador have played our character accordingly.)
[Sangwa Raumo]
\"I am insulted by your words. Here I stand, guilty of being evil but presented no valid proof.
\"Thoronador seems to know the evil mind quite well, and you\'d rather accept his perceptions than mine?
\"I want nothing with such foolishness.\"
Sangwa smiles \"Good bye.\" and heads for the bar, where Sengus went.
(This should cut it short, since you guys didn\'t seem to like Sangwa\'s intervention :P)
-
(Err..... Did you even read mine?)
-
[shorty13: if you don\'t want any IC arguments in here, I will respect that since it is your thread. I just thought that some opposition wouldn\'t hurt since you do have Golden Ring forums where people can \"join you and have some useful suggestions\". I honestly do not believe in this idea enough to register on your forums, but maybe I can give you a suggestion anyway. Search the forums for threads concerning organisations similar to this one and learn from their mistakes, since I don\'t believe any of them are still around. And good luck... :)]
