Title: Hot sauces

Does anybody here love hot sauces?  I have about 30 different varieties on the bottom shelf of my fridge and I use them daily.  My favorites are not the super-hot ones, just the medium and mild sauces, like Cholula, Franks, and Firemud.  I put these on everything!  I occasionally put drops of the extreme heat ones (like Blairs, Magma, DaBomb, and Daves) into my chili, but that\'s about it.

Habanero peppers are a gift from the gods!

i have franks hot sauce, i use it on pretty much every meal i eat. I think its one of the best tasting hot sauces made. And ive tried alot of em.

Bah, bought stuff... Selfmade!

My uncle and aunt have grown some \"Red Hot Chili Peppers\" on their balcony, dried it carefully in the oven, powdered it in an old coffee mill - I swear, you only need to lick the finger you drew over the sieve of the castor, and you will run for some bread!

This is the appropriate spice for some \"Satan Sauce\" -- which doesn\'t need much more than rather pure tomato ketchup, only a little italian herbs, and enough \"Capsa?cine\" from the chilies (just an egg spoon of chili powder per pot of sauce).

My favorite is Trinidad extra-hot haba?ero sauce (loads of flavor, not just heat), but since I can\'t find it locally, I generally go with El Yucateco green haba?ero sauce.

(Yeah, I know I could order the Trinidad online, but I never seem to get around to it.)

I like hot sauce, though I don\'t have tons of different types, just a few, like salt lick (excellent flavor, not very hot though) and the basic tabasco\'s. I prefer to do my spicing with red pepper, etc... in dry form, not a sauce.

I dont know the names of anything... but i love spicy food.. though i always opt out on \"you want chili sauce?\" when ordering a kebab... but half the time the guy convinces you that you do want it... great guy erick... me and my firends have had some of the best conversations with him, usually very early in the morning when we are too drunk to phone for pizza :/

Howdy,

There\'s this one called \"Voodoo\" with a photo of a guy screaming on its front. Pretty hot with a deep flavor! Tapatio is quite good on one\'s breakfast or slathered all over a burrito.

Oh, I\'m starting to drool just thinking about this stuff! :)

I second that El Yucatan green is good.  For hot/med-hot flavor I like  Key Lime Habanero hot sauce.

For mild heat, especially on eggs, I like \"the Pepper Plant\" hot sauce (any variety).

I too am a lover of good hot sauces, not the hot butt burners, I like the ones with flavor.

Among my favs are ...

1. Cholula a mexican hot sauce made with Pequin peppers, very good flavor

2. Crystal-A Louisianna hot sauce

3. Tapatio another mexican one

I went to a Mexican restaurant here and asked for a good hot sauce, the waiter says \"I got good one, burn you tongue off\"

I rolled my eyes and brought my own on my next visit.

I\'m Mexican... no further comments... well, almost none, just to mention that I rarely like non-house made sauce.

btw... ketchup based hot sauce?! *shruggs*

(ah, subject near and dear to me)...

I\'m not as young as I used to be, so my tastes are mellowing over time. I\'m trying to be kind to myself the morning after. :)

I have an \"auntie\" from Trinidad who made homemade habanero sauce -- even after diluting it, it was far too dangerous to keep around (getting a bit on your finger while putting away the dishes, then touching your eye, would make you blind for a day.) It overpowered any food you put it into, too.

I too like the more flavorful kinds.
- I found some nice stuff called \"Jufran\" which is spicy banana \"ketchup\" from the Philipines, I believe.
- Of all the peppers, I find cayenne-based sauces are most to my liking. (Just can\'t remember any specific names now).
- Franks is nice.
- Tabasco has a nice jalapeno flavor. The \"regular\" Tabasco is a bit too vinegary IMHO.

My dad had sauce he made out of jalepenio (sp?) seeds and whole habanero peppers, had this complex fermentation process...Lemme put it this way...I could eat whole habanero np, but that stuff made me *cry*...That being said, I agree with Xordan, spicy just for hot sucks, I prefer perfect amounts for flavour.

uh to add onto this i found the 3am sauce which is 2million on the scale which is still insanly hot and this one only runs for 35 bucks.
If everything works out I\'ll order the 3am sauce within a month or so and a few friends are gonna come over and we\'re all gonna have a dropof the stuff. I read some reviews its made people go to the hospital so this should be interesting.
I already have one of my friends whos willing to take video of the whole process so if this works out in a month or a little longer I\'ll put a video up of me and some friend trying this sauce. :D

It\'d be a lot of fun to buy some of that and stick it in a cholula bottle for one of my roommates...but I also don\'t want to drive to the hospital again.

And cholula is my favorite so far (going by \"what I actually eat with my food a lot\"), but I really haven\'t tried all that much despite liking them a lot.

For the mild brands, my favorites are the easily obtainable (and cheap) Franks Red Hot, Cholula, and Tapatio.

For the hotter ones, I like Dave\'s Insanity, Gil\'s Crying Tongue and Cajohns Cayenne Puree.

The Blairs 3am and onward hot sauces are not really sauces, they are extracts and will probably kill you if you take a lot at a time.  Or at least send you to the hospital for stomach pumping.

I\'m allergic to hot peppers. Mainly Jalapeno (Too spicy) Habanero (WAY too spicy).

When I had some of that 100% PAIN stuff I broke out REALLY bad.
