I JUST got the game, and I ran the server connector thingamawhatsit. Unfortunately, I haven\'t been able to get on. My firewall allows the program (McAfee) and I have an untra-cool ultra-fast connection (Verizon Broadband with MSN). Windows 98 Plus, and a GIGANTIC hard drive. (Yeah, that\'s right. This thing can hold MORE than a GIG!!) and my computer can play Battlefield 1942. It\'s choppy, but I can still play.

Well, currently the server is down for a rebuild, as the large red type tells you at the very top of the forum, so it\'s not accessible to anyone but the dev team ;)
In the meantime, google for your firewall/router model (if you do have one) and look up how to forward ports. There are just too many variations out there for anyone here to give you detailed step-by-step instructions.

Nah, don\'t think it was up there at the time :) There is a stickied \"Server Status\" thread however, in the \"Server Status/Annoucements\" forum section, that will show you how to check the server status on your own at any time.

If the server is down for any length of time I try to put that Red annoucement there. It was down for a big longer than I had thought so I put it up there. Server should be back up now, but might be a bit unstable over the weekend.

I didnt notice the red text either I just spent like 2 hours trying to open port 7777 and i came here FINALLY and red your guys posts...... I dont think my router or fire wall will cause problems. I Downloaded this game today and setup my character sheet and everything and it seemded to login correctly and loaded the level. if I got that far does that mean i dont have a firewall/router problem?

THanks for the welcome Karyuu. I think the server is back down again... and when i tryed to walk around it slid rather than the character moving its legs and walking. Is that normal?

Hm, the server seems to be up right now - at least at the time of my posting. Though as Acraig mentioned, it could be unstable for a while. As for the sliding - happens sometimes but it\'s never permanent - try stopping your character, then resuming movement once more. Sometimes typing \'/unstick\' into the chat window could work (without the apostraphes, of course), and if worse comes to worse, try relogging. Unless this is a new bug that is affecting everyone, in which case... eep :>

Unstable? I\'m used to unstable. I mean, I used to play RuneScape! WOOHOO!! GAME TIIIIIIIIIIIME!!!!!!!!

i ran updater again and it still slid. i am using the lion/cat looking character. i forgot the name of the race

So am I :] Enkidukai is the name. No clue what the problem may be, so I just hope it goes away soon. Have you tried running? Jumping? Strafing? Making crazy faces at the monitor? How about crossing sectors/maps? Try heading outside of the Ojaveda city, out the gates and towards the green path and later on large stone entryway. Lastly, you could try typing /die and hoping that\'ll fix it, though that means you\'ll have to find your way out of the Death Realm (which can be rather confusing, but other players are almost always willing to help if they know the exit).
*edit* Ah! Well, dying did the trick afterall :P You\'re now on the quest to find the exit out of the Death Realm. Good luck, and don\'t be afraid to poke people for help.

Translation: I\'m runnin\' the updater whatchamacallit, and the server doesn\'t respond to my pinging.
Is this normal?

Completely, the server is up and down right now due to a lot of bugges and crashes after the update. It will continue to be unstable and up and down until things get sorted out, which may take a while.. which was just said a few posts up!
Hope you have some fun on it once you can get on, though!

Uh-oh. It says the \'fragnetics\' server is at 302, but when I try to connect to the game it says the server is down. Well, is it down or not and if so, where\'s the red text? Or, if not, is my computer just retarding again?

The server is going up and down, up and down. Sometimes it is up for 20 seconds only. Please be patient and respect the hard work that developers are doing to make it stable :) And keep trying, we need people connecting to the server and crashing it. That is the only way to find all the bugs and (hopefully) fix them.

I fixed most of the crashes (I think...) and it should be more stable soon. Just be patient please. Thanks.
