what\'s with all the rubies decorating Ojaveda? I think they are making the game very laggy. Can they be removed. I crash a lot there now and I never used to. I may be wrong. Is all the rendering causing this? it\'s really annoying!
-
Hm, never heard of rubies spawning in Oja previously, so it\'s likely that they were left by other players. Remember that decorating the map with items is not allowed in public places! Feel free to clean them up.
-
Heh, I am curious as to how the got to some of the places, I believe it was a GM...most interesting.
-
 GMs should know better than anyone about this.
-
I agree, though should is a nearly useless word these days.
I only say this due to the positioning of the rubies...I do not think anybody else could have done it without being noticed.
-
the rubies have been so that they can\'t be removed. I tried to get to them. Yes, it appears that someone who has access to more than us \"normal\" players must be responsible. If it is some kinf of joke. Okay. Ha Ha. you\'ve had your petty little laugh. Now quit messing with others enjoyment of the game.
-
Write a petition in-game about it, and the next time a GM is available, he or she will clean it up :>
If anyone else feels like decorating like this again, I will hunt them with bricks.
-
Heh, about that, the petition form still seems messed up.
-
D\'oh! Hopefully someone will get to it regardless - and then there is always \'/who game\' and /tells.
-
Bah, get a better computer. How many rubies are we talking about?
-
Over 500 as best I could count..it was severely affecting framerates and causing lag. I picked up over a hundred that I could reach and there were still way too many.
This wasn\'t anything normal and it messed up the whole Ojaveda sector.
I rarely if ever have lag and framerate loss and this was horrible, and even worse for those that were borderline already running the game.
-
Yes it was very neat to see but whoever did it should have cleaned up the mess afterwards >.>
I did go offline in ps cause of this... what else can you do when you cant move?
Anyways for all that missed it (I say this cause I am hoping they are gone now :| ) here are a few screenshots I got....

(btw it took me about 10-15 minutes just to make it from east Akkiao to the main gate >.> )

gah!
just like when the lovely neeve had to spend her precious time picking up arena junk after someone whos name has been forgoten decided to decorate the skys of the plaza >.>
only this time with carry capacity problems :|
-
I felt no lag from this at all, and I arrived after an announcement came over the world shout.
I thought it was rather beautiful, to tell the truth. *shrugs*
I remember hearing something like \"It\'s a goodbye present,\" somewhere or other.
-
Well, I went back to ojaveda today and the rubies are gone. Thanks to whoever removed them. I\'m not lagging any more.
-
I don\'t know if this helps but this was said after the rubies were in place.
(21:51:11) Town Crier worldshouts: A bunch of fanatics have gotten loose overnight in Akkaio, believing that they must appease the crystal with their offerings of rubies. They have bedecked just about everything, and even if you aren\'t a fanatic it\'s still quite a sight.
I waited around to see if Fanatics were in Akkaio. I saw nothing......then a bit later....
(22:27:29) Citizen Inkitir shouts: Eagh! They\'ve bejeweled my tent, too!
None of this really made sense to me. I thought some big event was about to take place. :/ *sighs*
-
AHAHAH quite a sight indeed. Maybe someone needs hints on how to create workable event atmospheres.

Hehe, I know what that shout was in response to....
I know who did it....but if it\'s fixed now then no harm done....as long as they learn from it.
-
hey Zansibar, how do you know what kind of computer other players have?
*edit*
and...when you point a finger at someone else, there are 3 fingers pointing back at you (fromyour own hand)

No need to double post, just use the edit button.

Ah, I wouldn\'t underestimate the PlaneShift players, some of them have \"glitch\" exploration down to an artform, though most would not litter the locations, and are exploring just for the fun of it.

I agree Karyuu ... and I was all excited. :(

Well one thing it did accomplish...Akkaio was never that full of life. The \"event\" did attract quite the exodus to Oja. :D
