Title: Outta here
Post by: Jinkeen on January 22, 2006, 11:19:10 pm
Thanks..it\'s been fun.  Getting tired of all the people telling others how to play and deciding what is best for everyone.

I enjoyed knowing most of you. I have just been playing more fast-paced games that are more complete and more people to interact with, things to fight etc.  And they don\'t try to decide anything for anyone.

Maybe when some of you decide to live and let live and stop worrying about who else is doing what else then you will be able to keep those that care about the game.  Till then you will lose people.

The lag, the bugs, the broken and unincluded features I can deal with.  The aristocracracy that pushes others around and constantly stirs up stuff with anyone that does not play the way they want them to I can no longer stomach.  They do not bother me but I am seeing it, all over. I am seeing people talk about those that are gone, versions that are long past, and those unwilling to evolve as the game does.  They, instead, choose to sit back and criticize everyone and everything and scoff at the input of others because they weren\'t here when the game was crappier than it is now.

Planeshift is designed to evolve as it grows.  All demos do.  To try to maintain what you were used to is naive.  IT will change and if old players cannot adapt with the change then they should move on.  To linger and cuss the new players and the new features just makes it miserable for the rest of us that like to see change.

So you have succeeded in driving another player off.  Congratulations.  Though I am sure there will be many witty responses and retorts to this topic,  if they are directed at me, then don\'t bother.  I won\'t be around to see them..  I just wanted to say goodbye to those I know and love.  You know who you are.

Thanks for taking it like a man!  Appreciate it.

Bye.  PlaneShift really isn\'t much of a -game- as it is an interactive chat room...  I run it in the background and do other things.

It\'s no longer a chatroom, Psybur-cat. Adapt to the new CB :)

Other than powerleveling, there isn\'t much else to do except for chatting/RP.  And powerleveling isn\'t very fun to me.  Maybe when the quest system/quests get more interesting and the world get developed more, then I will stop treating it like a chatroom :D

Kinda sad this guy left... he could have just ignored what other people were saying or try to make a stand.  Not just run away...

Does he even know you? I wish your posts on this thread would have been deleted. So please don\'t post anymore on this thread. Thank you.

Anyways back to my sweet Jinkeen leaving. I simply wont let you :P I agree with what you have said in this thread. People need to wake up here and start treating each other with respect instead of being  POWERHUNGRY. This is the reason I have not been in game as much either... well at least some part of the reason. I still have much hope for planeshift. The reason I do stay in the game is because of the little bit of great community that is here. With all its problems and all the people fighting to have power it is nice to see that good people still are here and trying even if they are pushed down to make a difference.
I hope that Jinkeen will stay to be with the friends he does have here. *hugs Jinkeen tightly*
We miss you so get back over here

[Edit]
BTW Jinkeen I will get you to come back and read this :D

Evil Woman...:)  I didn\'t want to go through all this, but I will.

Psibyre...I don\'t run away from anything...I don\'t like this game.  I choose not to play it anymore.  I explained why.
Why would I stay and play when I don\'t like it?  That makes no sense and would undoubtedly spill over onto people that I care about.  Not fair to them.  So you can hide in the shadows and talk about others running away all day, but you seem to be more interested in sending other\'s topics into a self-indulgent spamfest.  Blow.

Thanks Drey for the kind words..I will still be in skype and stuff.

Sep...I love you man!!!!

Well I am sorry to see you go Jinkeen, good luck to you in your life adventures. It was fun making a sister sandwich with you! :D

As for the reasons you are leaving I think that everyone has there own idea of how planeshift should be done. The one thing everyone seems to keep forgetting is that this is all about the role play. So if people are sitting about an crabbing about others then to me that isn\'t role play or worth my time, nor should it be worth anyone else\'s if you play planeshift for role play like it is meant to be. I see alot of people complaining but I don\'t see enough of these people encouraging role play. It is not about how tough you are or what is the highest sword you can have, or how fast you can gain your skills. It is about interacting with one and other and combining our stories and creating a realistic world. The Gm\'s don\'t make planeshift and neither do the dev\'s. (ok so the devs MAKE the game but do not control the people) We, the players do and if we all followed the guide lines that have been laided down for us by Talad then there wouldn\'t be as many problems. So if there is newbies to this game reading this post remember this, and your gaming experiance will be memorable.

I guess I misinterpreted your message.  Never mind then ;p

But you probably could have made the game more interesting by taking a stand :D  Arguments are always fun.

No I don\'t want a private community. I was new here and found many friends including Jinkeen. This is a thread he made and I would just like to see people stay on topic and for once not argue and poke stabs fighting with each other for once :D I wanted all the people who knew or even didn\'t know Jinkeen to have a chance to say anything they wanted. An example of this is Psibyre. I didn\'t complain about the other post they made because they simple said something of a goodbye to Jinkeen :D and I thank them for that. If you want an argue thread simple make one or to the mature thing and say goodbye to Jinkeen here. Thank you :D
I hope that further off topic things will be deleted ^^

@Drey dont make me call you up on skype when I get home ;)
@Waylander of course I did. I dont know them :| It was simply the nicest way to be put and its not a burn and was never intended to be taken that way. Silly Cad :P

Listen, ok, you sound like a nice person...but I directly quoted you in a reply that was on topic but was slightly negative but in no way against the rules that you wanted to be deleted.  That point of view bother\'s the hell out of me so I can\'t not reply to it.  I\'d drop it but, unlike you, I pay attention to other people\'s posts as well as who is posting them and this seems to be a recurring theme in yours.  So in an effort not to be repetitious sometime in the near future I thought I\'d get that off my chest and out of the way...

And technically I don\'t think these threads are even allowed to begin with.  Not that I agree with that.

The reason why you\'re leaving is because of idiots. I completely agree with you, people need to let the community do what it wants, and stop trying to force ideas and opinions (and so many rules that aren\'t even official) on everyone who plays. It\'s a free community, a place where people roleplay, live their life in a fantasy world, whatever...not a place where we get told what to do by people who say they don\'t exist in game (due to not being allowed to roleplay on their part), but make a huge impact on how it developes.

The game isn\'t complete, but this is supposed to be a time where you experience what the game will be like in the future, a demo. You\'ve experienced all this game can offer, it\'s only pre-alpha, I can understand why you\'re leaving. But, do what I do and tell those people who boss others around to shove it. I\'ve never gotten along with GMs, since they each have their own ideas on how the community developes, and don\'t listen to what anyone says. I\'ve gotten along better with the Developers. If you know them like I do, then you should ignore the GMs and just do what the DEVELOPERS say. GMs are official, but they\'re going to do whatever they want to you just because of what mood they\'re in.

Sometimes, you should just do whatever you want, I have (even now for speaking my mind, I bet I\'ll get flamed), and you won\'t get in trouble for it, because even though GMs hate my guts, they know I\'m friends with the people whos decisions actually count. I have a few friends on the GM team, who haven\'t turned against me (yet), and the ones who aren\'t my friend, just let it slide.

I know, it probably isn\'t the same situation with you. Maybe you saw someone bullying a player, mocking them, whatever, but one of the main reasons is unofficial rules. Maybe they were roleplaying? Maybe it was just two friends joking around? Yet, the GMs insist that they be \'nice\' to eachother (cough Cerejha cough), just because they pick on the weaker person. They know the two are friends, they know they\'re joking (sometimes they aren\'t, but they never know the difference), yet just because they feel like it, they\'re going to tell that person, that they can\'t do it anymore.

Alright, I spoke my mind. Like I said, it most likely isn\'t the same situation, but from what you said before:

Quote
Maybe when some of you decide to live and let live and stop worrying about who else is doing what else then you will be able to keep those that care about the game.  Till then you will lose people.

people need to stop worrying about others, and just let them do what they want. Basic rules would apply, but not the unofficial ones that GMs seem to place without warning, just because the felt like it.

EDIT: Now, I think I know what you\'re talking about. Old players; still the same situation. \'Oldbies\' picking on the \'newbies\' like I mentioned with \'GMs\' picking on \'players.\'

It\'s still at test stage, for those who keep saying they\'ve been here longer. We are only testing, playing around, etc. banning people, forcing people to leave, discouraging people because they\'re just new and don\'t know what to do, it isn\'t needed. Once the game is finished, then do what you want to do, but right now, lay off of the people who may be abusing glitches, or something like that, because it\'s just testing, it isn\'t like people can cheat this early, everything will be wiped again anyway. \'Oldbies\' won\'t be so old once they get their character wiped again, then everyone will be equal, and no one will be called \'newbie\' until the powerlevelers settle in and begin with the punkish attitude. And for the GMs, those are the people who should be banned.

The GM team has been redesigned completely, as of now. It has shrunk to ten people who have gone through an hour-long personal interview with Talad, who judged both their roleplay and moderating capabilities first-hand. GMs now also have an intensive guide to help them make decisions, written for the most part by developers. GM promotions and admissions will also be done by PlaneShift developers until it is felt that the team has enough maturity to handle this on its own. This isn\'t your old GM team - quite a few people have been removed, and those who remain will pretty much be ruled with an iron fist. They will not rule with an iron fist themselves.

You can put your worries aside, Suno.

Ok it seems to me like you are making a huge issue out of nothing. She simply asked for things to stay on topic, as Psibyre seems to not have. It is as simple as that. If she made a comment that offended you then there is this little button called the pm button. It is not necessary to flood Jinkeens goodbye thread with useless arguments. As for this \"but was slightly negative\" I happen to think you are the most negative in this thread at this moment. So that is quite amusing to me that you would point out this about someone else. As for me pm you with this response I thought it important to point out this issue to others that may read this thread and hope that in the future people will take this problems to the pm button if they are not on topic with the thread.

THANK GOD! Alot of the GMs were very corrupt. I was muted for no reason, and a friend was banned just for speaking to a GM.

Ok, first off, read my post.  I was pointing out that Psibyre\'s first post was on topic, which it most definately is, if slightly negative.  There is absolutely nothing wrong with being negative sometimes, and yes I AM being negative and I definately mean to be.  So I\'m not exactly sure what you think is so amusing about me doing exactly what I mean to be doing.  As far as I\'m concerned this is not a \"useless argument\" and is very important as to how the board is moderated, it can be like Mogura used to do, which you and Dylia seem to support...which I don\'t.  This mentality reminds me why I don\'t play the game.

As for PM\'s, I\'m addressing the whole point of view that anything negative is wrong and must be wiped from the boards, which seems to be what Dylia thinks.  Or at least if it\'s connected to one of her friends.  Furthermore, if you want to get into the \"what should be in PMs\" discussion, goodbye\'s could easily be moved to there.  But I think that would be stupid.  Anything that anyone else can add to should be in the public boards, anything that people WOULD NOT be able to add to such as a private joke or something you don\'t want any comments on should be in the PMs.  I want to hear other people\'s opinions so they can draw their own conclusions even if they\'re biased, therefore I\'m going to post here.

I don\'t see it as rude to post these things in this persons goodbye post, they\'ve already said they are not going to read it.  You\'re all saying goodbye to a non-existant person.

Take a breather from your computer. I did. Yes you sound very negative to me and it also seems you like to personally attack people. I am hoping I am wrong. As for Mogura, I have never spoken with her. So as for me supporting her you are wrong. I read the forum rules and follow those. If she wrote some rules you don\'t agree with _I_ am not the person to take it out on.

You do not know what I think and that is apparent just by your posts. I don\'t think all things negative should be deleted but posts off topic getting deleted is one of the rules and again I didn\'t make those rules I play by then like everyone else. As for the topic being very important I would agree and that\'s why it should be in a separate thread. More openly your discussion belongs here --->

If you had bothered to read my posts you would know I am still talking with him because that is what friends do. I tell him about the people who said goodbye to him which so far there is only three that haven\'t. As for the goodbye post not belonging :
General Discussion
Discussions about PlaneShift, Roleplaying and more...
Jinkeen is a character in the game and he left. Yes some of his leaving was ooc and that why his goodbye wasn\'t in the In-Game Roleplay Events. And it fine that YOU don\'t want to say good bye to someone you don\'t know because apparently you don\'t play the game which would explain why you don\'t know any of us, which in most cases is not a big deal. So why cant we all just leave well enough alone. I did until I was openly told my thoughts by someone who doesn\'t have a clue about me and is confused.
It is actually really sad that the reasons on why Jinkeen left become more and more believable in this very thread. I suggest you all re-read this thread and look at what he did say and then laugh like I am because as he said it -- it happened right here in this thread. And now I guess with that said I would have to say you are all on topic but leave me out of it. I don\'t like these head games and choose to be happy and not so stressed out.
For anyone who knew or even didn\'t know Jinkeen and want to say goodbye and have the message passed to him (in case you cant get a hold of him) you may send me a message though PM\'s and I will give it to him :D

/me puts up a \"Don\'t feed the Kiern\" sign.

Jinkeen has left, simple as. He may be back... Just wish him the best and get on with it.

Aye, I think this is why goodbye threads are generally skipped over by many :P

Thank you for the kind words Drey and Karyuu. As I said I am laughing ^^ And I do hope that I can get him back here. He did make it fun and had many good jokes along with ideas. :D

Kiern must be really pissed, I don\'t remember her ever acting this way; but, I don\'t really know her either, I just skim by her posts. =P

How can you misread my post so entirely?  I honestly have no idea where you pulled some of this stuff from.  Let us break it down, shall we?

Irrelevant.  This conversation has carried on over a course of two days.  I don\'t think the few posts I made took quite that long to make.

Don\'t put words in my mouth.  I said you share Mogura\'s view on how the forums should be run. Not that you support her directly.  I naturally assumed you have read the forum in the past and was just giving an example.  I\'m also not personally attacking you, just your viewpoint on how the forum runs.  As I said, you sound like a sweet person.  That doesn\'t make me think you\'re right, however.

Let me quote you directly for this one:

Bye.  PlaneShift really isn\'t much of a -game- as it is an interactive chat room...  I run it in the background and do other things.

*shakes her head in sad disappointment*
Does he even know you? I wish your posts on this thread would have been deleted. So please don\'t post anymore on this thread. Thank you.

I\'ll point out the important parts now:
Psibyre: On topic post commenting on Jinkeen leaving.
You:  Saying it should be deleted.

And that, as well as previous posts by you is where my arguement stems from.  One you completely ignored with all the rest of this nonsense.  Please, if you actually read one thing, read that.

Then what\'s the point in saying he won\'t be reading this?  To pump up his ego?  I don\'t get it.  But don\'t bother with that, it has nothing to do with anything.  As for you saying the goodbye post belonging.  That\'s great, I agree with you that it should, but in the past they have been locked/deleted all over the place.  I can assure you I know a bit more on that subject..

Great.  I\'m glad you are laughing.  Because this is a lot of fun for me.  I just wish you could actually formulate an argument based on what I did say rather then what you pull out of the air.  This is one of the few times I\'ll miss Draklar and Mogura.

Kiern, why do you bother? Dylia just wants her friend back, I didn\'t read your post because it was too long, and for it to be that long, there would have to be a lot of mindless talk in it that no one cares about. The reason WHY Jinkeen left, is because of people like you. Criticizing everything everyone says/does.

Because it entertains me?  It\'s easy enough to ignore me, if she really wanted to she would.  I\'m only replying to what other people have said.  Nothing is wrong with criticism...I can\'t help it if Jinkeen doesn\'t like it, I\'m sorry.  And I\'m not being sarcastic.

Thank you I could not have said it any better and since this post is no longer having anyone say goodbye to Jinkeen I do hope the Mods lock it and be done with the senselessness that has started in this thread. (and yes JUST TO MAKE SURE EVERYONE READS THAT RIGHT YES I AM TALKING ABOUT MYSELF IN THAT TOO)

Ignoring you is one thing, but trying to get a thread back on topic is another. Thanks to you, this thread got way off subject, we went from saying goodbye to Jinkeen to you criticizing Dylia for some senseless reason. I agree, it should be locked now, that or your posts be deleted so we can keep this going.

(I would rather use another word, but it is censored, so if you have half a brain, I bet you can guess what I originally said.)

Maybe you didn\'t read my words in my post carefully enough Kiern. BIG issue out of nothing. I am getting a sense from everyone else that this is expected of you. So nothing futher to say... the more we post the more you have to pick apart. *sighs*

Ok I lied..I read all that..after hearing about it I decided that maybe I should see for myself.

I\'m sorry my post about drama created..well..er..drama.

I am glad to see some of my words may motivate some attitude changes, while for others an adjustment of that nature seems well out of grasp.

And Waylander..you wish you were significant enough to cause me to do anything but laugh at you :) ...you and your God complex.

Speaking of God, since I have now died for your sins..I shall be from this point forward referred to reverently as Jinkeen Christ, estranged uncle of Jesus Christ.   No i can\'t turn water into wine, but I can turn beer into pee.

And now, for my next trick, I will blow up the Earth with my Uranium P32 Space Modulator..Goodbye everyone....again.

First off: Bye Jinkeen! It was good to know you and nice to RP with you :-) Maybe you come along in a few months/years again? Hm.. what is the IC end of Jinkeen, i wonder?
Sorry for not having posted so long, i rarely read the forums without getting pointed to posts...

Enjoy your time and refrain from one thing: regret anything. IMHO all experience is good, doesnt matter whether it is positive or negative in the first place, one only has to learn from it ^^

*another wave before Jinkeen vanishes*
Bye Mate..

[ If anyone wants this opened, PM me. If you want to reach Jinkeen, prod someone who knows how to prod him in turn - Dylia or Zorbels come to mind. ;) ]
