Title: Requesting feedback pretty please^^
Post by: Kintall on January 26, 2006, 06:38:38 am
Ello all, long time no \"see\" just thought I\'d see if I could get as good a feedback as I used to for one of my inane scribbles, and here is said scribble

youl have to forgive the outfit, I was more making it as a test for skin patterning as well, something I am yet to add as I\"m sure youve guessed.

It\'s Kintall! :D

First off: unusual number of fingers = <3.

The eye to the right (so her left eye) is set too close to the edge of the face. Remember that there is supposed to be a space of one full eye between the two, and even less in 3/4ths view. Here, it\'s more.

She seems a tad too thin - it\'s unsettling when the width of the shoulders is so much greater than the width of the hips.

So. Erm. Hm. Can I ask what it is? :P

ahh yes, sorry. the picture is for a personal project its of a race of sort of lizard/dragon people, the waistline and proportions are rather askew as I\'m trying a slight little sortof warner brothers influence to make for a slightly more expressive look, hence the wacky eye positioning as well. I\'m also taking a page from the western books as they have a long history of anthropomorphising (gods of spelling forgive me) people with animals like daffy and mickey.. possibly not as cartoony as them but the ability to acurately display human emotions and facial traits on faces that clearly arent.

anywho sorry to interupt, and any further sightings are always apreciated even from those that already have (always liked the art community here, got a lot of art skillups doing all those requests)... even criticism, so long as its more than \"U sux n00b FAIL GTFO etc etc etc\"

Greetings!

Good to see you again Kintall. *bows* I like them both, drawing seems to come so naturally from you. Muscle form, pose and hands especially.

The lizard female is very cute and friendly looking. :) *imagines her in a dress* Hmm, I do agree that broad shoulders make her look more manly. However, the hips may be a bit twisted there, hiding the full width. The eye looks better now, I agree. Typically herbivores have eyes more apart from each other, but that makes them look less human. http://www.nhm.org/mammals/page010.html

In the night acrobat picture the hand behind the head seems slightly too robust to me. Would give nice perspective if it was a bit smaller. I like her clothing. If it\'s symmetric though, another flap of her dress could be showing. The background is nice and nighty. If this is happening in Yliakum though, the moon and stars conflict a bit with the setting.

If you want, you can also test how reducing saturation affects. But that\'s more of a style thing.

Hello *bows back*

I thank you for your words of both praise and valuable criticism but first let me assure you drawing hands comes as naturaly to me as knitting to a harp seal, that amusing mental image aside..

I am glad you noted the wider shoulders, while they do imply masculinity shes actually supposed to be a warrior so a bit of increased beef doesnt go astray, but if I were to do a more peacful character then indeed there would be benefit to softening the bodily features as well as the facial ones, lol and as for the hips well I just plain ran out of paper on the bottom of the page, it would look right if I had the space I assure you :P

and the nighttime hopper lass, the clothing does seem a little incomplete but to be honest I had enough trouble wrestling the pose into submission I wasnt game to make the outfit any more conflicting ^^ and well the stars and moon fall more on the ills of quickly grabbing a backing frame from google imagesearch (best timesaver and reference tool in human history as far as I\'m concerned) yes I\'m, bad and I\'m probably going to hell... if not for this then for that incident with the scotch tape, the bucket of wax and that now abandoned nunnery... ahh good times...

oh and thanks for the useful link too, much to think about in these hallowed HTML\'s... hmm bone structures... hummm

might as well do a request if anyones got any interesting ones. lol though they wont be as fast as they used to mind you (I have a job now, evil is the act of growing up indeed)

[edit]oh lol and whilst no ones probably interested I have in my absense gotten work doing Tshirt Designs, band logos, album covers, concert and event posters, and even a feminist zine. A lot of which I can atribute to the skills I got here doing that mountain of requests for the assorted masses[/edit]

..I.. I remember you, I think!
Looks at the blinking signature..
Yes, I deffinately remember you. XD Good to see someone coming back, for a change! Hope you see a warm welcome.

I\'m deffinately not very good a critic, so if you read what I say, and then want to change something due to it, you\'re probably on the wrong track ;)

For your warrior girl, the only thing that I can see that hasn\'t already been stated, is the that the mid-section, mainly the rib-cage, is a bit odd positioned when looking at it in perspective. It could be just my eyes, or the way she\'s turned, but the rib-cage looks more straight and relaxed on her left side, than her right.. especially with the under-arm mark giving the general depth of her body. Besides this, your artwork is as always awesome and great  :]

Welcome back, Kintall!

well here we are again, these three I have partly state transit to blame for, (I have to wait about 45minutes from when I get to the statuion to when the blasted train comes) theyre all unfinished lol and two of them are in a sense \"naked\"

heres the first its nothign special, I just had an idea for a sorto enchanted stone tomb/temple/dungeon/generic oogy boogy place guardian thingie, the whole thing centred around a guilded stone eye for a head and hands that each have half a runes parts on it, so ifit claps its hands .... well I dunno but its cool though lol

this next one was another possible pose for the cat lady thief one, but this one was her halfway through a cartwheel and an escape ^^, youl have to forgive the nuddyness but I havent decided on clothign yet so theres just the basic body form there, the main problem I am aware of the the rather inadequate deformation of the left breast, because they elongate and flatten when the arm is raised but then theres the problem of what they do when theyre upside down... lol and moving. all very complicated and anatomical, any sugestins on an outfit are also welcome

Lastly I had an idea for a para-diaboli bloke, this ones nakey too but I gave myself a mental block when I finished the pose... I just cant stop picuring him with a motorcycle jacket and a cigarette stopping for a quick smoko, lol so with this one especially any clothing ideas are also apreciated... though he could stay that way and have the whole \"wildman of the woods\" look... hmmm

as usual all comments and suggestions are apreciated, and if anyones got any interesting requests I\"d love to hear em (theres a number of ones in that fanart project I gots my eye on already... specailly that bloke with the mask)

I really love that last one :) Though to be honest I\'m a bit confused as to what\'s going on between his legs. Tail? Cloth? Too ambiguous and confusing. The wrists/fingers are oddly bent - it\'s a strange angle. Have you tried finding reference images, or perhaps even taking a photo yourself? Adore the head though.

A bit more flesh on that second character may be a good idea - simpler forms are great for animation, and stylizing as well, but it has to have enough other detail to hold the viewer\'s attention. It\'s just in sketch form, I realize, but in case you plan on doing more with it.

First image - also <3. There isn\'t much to critique because mecha\'s don\'t have to follow any \"correct\" design or anatomy, and it rocks right now.

I personally really like this one. When detail is added in, I think it will be eye catching. The positioning is different and great. Clothing suggestions? Not sure...Something clingy, defintely, since she\'s upside down, but I also think something full body, not showing a lot of skin. Like a wetsuit you would wear to fight someone in, lol. I like your style, keep posting some more of these :)

heres a very unfinished pic, its of that Idea I got from that other unfinished pic^^, and the idea of an \"unfinished\" armour in a finished way... well here it is, its not all that apparent but it will hopefully look good, I was going to give him a bloody great two handed sword... but then I think he\'d just look like nightmare out of soul calibur:P

as always comments/suggestions on works both old and new are apreciated and in fact the very reason I am here :P

The upper half of his body looks unnatural now that it\'s been colored. I think it\'s a bit too small when compared to the size of the rest of his body. I also think a little more color in the armor would spice it up. The swords are scary cool...is that the sheath on his back? He also looks like he\'s on top of the background more than a part of it, I suppose that just means it needs some more shading.

Hellos again Kintall, you annoyingly good artist.

Hmm, on the last picture you posted one of the hands seems a bit bigger than the other. The armored hand has more slender fingers, I mean. My two cents, worth less than ever (damnable inflation!).

Does your warrior not respect the other half of his body? Jk, I do like your work especially the sketches. The ones that seem top be more anime styled are the ones that I avoid.

lol wow... I dont even remember posting I was that sleepy, just an edit he isnt actually finished. I forgot to say that its just a work in progress still, whats left to do is to add the colour and texture detail to the armour and swordies, as for the skin areas looking outta wack, theres definately some truth to it, they do look different now, two reasons are he\'s leaning away from the viewer and I also tried making the outlines for the skin areas using a different outline colour... lol and the hands, yeah its wobbly but I think I can make it look ok if I do more tatoo detailing on the skin (call it his \"demon arm\" or some such rubbish)

I was also going to try overlaying a rendered clouds layer over his armour then making a copy of the shading layer to use as a displacement map.. lol wont work possibly?  well one way to find out, oh and the backing is just a hue muddle googleimagesearch piccie, I dont know why its there I was too sleepy :P

but yeas, any comments suggestions or large sums of non sequential billsare always apreciated^^

Kintal is back. Oh my. What a pleasant surprise. My day is made. Welcome back, Kintal. Looking foward to new stuff. We have some artists who have similar styles to your own, but seeing some of your new stuff I hope you can soon put them in their place. The requesting king has returned. lol... I dont think I can really put anyone in thier place, I been rummaging about here and on peoples deviantart dingies and theres some seriously awesome stuff been posted while I was away and along:P sigh... no one told me

yaaay
lookit lookit da pweeety, god that patterning took an age to finish... and I really got lucky on the clouds overlay on the swords, (no the displacement map didnt work lol) as for the flames they were surprisingly the easiest bit of the whole mess, I just duplicated the layer with the swords colour on it, then blending properties: white overlay outer glow red (screen) inner glow yellow (normal) and just got the smudge tool out and extruded the flames out, and I\"m really happy with the result, so much so in fact I even made a wall of the body close up... lol it would be a real shame to have all that effort filled detail go unseen... lol graphics heavy thread ahoy!

and heres the wallpaper:

EDIT: and I just got through Karyuu\'s devart, christ on a bikkit!... tahts amayzin! \"Under The Weeping Moon\" is utterly sensational.. lol I know its completely the wrong place but could I be so bold as to request a widescreen(1280x768-) wall size version of it if you get the time or feel inclined? thankyou in advance even if you do /dont (its cool if no, I know what its like to get thingie about ones art^^)

Impressive result.

Anyway, I\'ll join JosePhoenix, but I\'ll concentrate on the other hand, since he already has made a comment on the right one :P
My feeling with the left hand is that it\'s virtually impossible that he is indeed holding that \"sword\", the way the hand and arm is positioned, doesn\'t seem to transmit to me the necessary (tension?) that would be needed to hold such a long sword. Look at the way the sword is positioned, and its lenght; it\'s facing up, and he\'s holding it on the extreme, the gravity must be acting on the edge of the sword like if it was a lever, the warrior in the meanwhile seems, by his arm position and also face expression not caring too much about that fact ;) I somewhat could feel more comfortable keeping that same arm and hand positioning, but the sword facing exactly the oposite, that is, the blade reaching the ground.

That said, the overall of the image looks like a comic one, and it looks indeed great, there\'s only something weird (at least to me) on the hair, I don\'t know how to express it but I think there\'s some collision between your choices of modelling the bast majority of the hair with those grey-white layers, and those two (tuft? I don\'t think it\'s the word... :S) that somewhat look unfitting, and tend to appear more than corns rather than fashionable/cool haircut.

The armour is also very good looking (kind of sci-fi looking) and the lines look smooth... I was surprised on the sketch you provide, that you draw it with such convincement, really impressive, the lines are very clean, and it\'s very well done. *looks at the armour*

*smiles* Oh... and indeed artist you\'re... you couldn\'t even resist to put your Kintall eye all over the armour torso...
*sighs* That ego... :D

Kintall, I think I can sum up that picture in two words: complete crap.

Wait! no, those are the wrong words... *rummages in his bag of scrabble tiles*

I think it\'s more like.... Holy Crap!

Caption:
\"Well, damn. Today is not my day. My fingernails are bloody, half my armor fell off, and now my sword\'s on fire!\" :P

Don\'t get me wrong, I love it. A lot. Is there a wallpapery version? Edit: nevermind. >.> My eyes betrayed me once again.

Erm.... Shouldn\'t the one sword\'s fire overlap the other sword behind it? The flames of the one sword go behind the sword that is behind the sword they belong to.... tell me if i\'m confusing you, i\'ll try and rephrase it...
Title:
Post by: Kintall on February 03, 2006, 11:07:44 pm
lol thankyou,

Nilrem, yeah theres not much implied tension on the armoured hand. whilst that may just imply his dingie power it doesnt realy match the size nor the tension of the other hand ^^ lol and the eyes are just because I like eyes the ego well thats why theres always an extra sig hidden in all my pics:P, thinking about it its a bit egoistic to assume anyone would plagerise my work gien all the more talented people on this board, let alone the entire intarwebs

Arc, ty ty my head swells even further..  there is some danger with this

JosePhoenix, lol thanks uness theres another edit to the word before the crap, and eah that would be a day from hell, well at least all te hair blowdrying paid off :P

lol spot on Farren, that there is a gaping flaw i didnt end up fixing mainly because of laziness, sigh... one that didnt go unnoticed

Oh and I forgot to mention, this year i will be undergoing professional digital arts training, encompassing such fun things as 3d moddeing/animation sound design and all sorts of other groovy stuff, and I was wondering if theres a ready useable way to use my what will be maya training to possibly make some models and or animations to be used with PS?, cause contributions sound nice and manageable and I already have a full time project coming up soon anyways :P

and BTW one of the main things I\"m here for as well is to do the ocasional interesting request(styistic as well as content), lol not like I used to mind you (evil workie) but a few still...   ^^ but with chain of memories holding me tightly in its thrall they may take a minute
Title:
Post by: josephoenix on February 03, 2006, 11:34:47 pm
As I recall, the first crop of shields in PS were modelled in Maya 4.5 or so. There\'s an evil exporter from maya to CS, I think, but it may be easier to have someone import it in blender and then export to CS (blender seems to have the most mature CS/cal3d exporter)

As for the request things, can I post mine in this thread?

josePhoenix
Title:
Post by: Kintall on February 04, 2006, 02:32:11 am
yeah sure post request away, or just link to the one you want if you or someone else have one in mind from that great fanart project thingie, some of them look really interesting lol but I still feel wierd doing a rendition of someones char without being asked directly, I mean theres so much variety in interpretation... lol like one of the ones I did that personaly I think captured the red haired bearded nutter perfectly, he was stark naked mind you but I still thought that made the look complete^^

and thanks for the maya info, once I\"ve got my \"m4d skillz\" on then I\"l get into the nitty gritty of it. 3d modelling has always been a far off interest of mine, sort of like learnign the violin: it\'d be great but I\'d have to start off crappy^^, and for an attention seeker like me who seemingly does things to fill the void of personal inadequecy by seeking activitys that bring praise its a rather major step lol... thank buggery for TAFE where everyones crap. bwahahaha

oh and I\"m looking to get a bit of improvement in my no cartooning ablitys mainly for backgrounds and the like, anyone got any good programs/photoshop tutes theyd reccomend? (I have a graphics tablet)

edit: and thinking back on what farren said about the flames, one thing I should have tried was dumping the flame layer of the swords above the actual colouring layer then as the layer is extruded up it will sort of hover off the object itself as well as wisp off above it, next time next time
Title:
Post by: Kintall on February 06, 2006, 08:21:04 am
firstly: sorry for the double post but I get a 404 when I try to edit my post, I think my connections going wobbly, couldnt even load the forums the other day *sigh*, anywho, I drew thingies lol whether I ever actually get around to colouring them yet remains to be seen... onward with the squiggles!

this ones a little scetch I plan to make into an animated waiting picture, with a lil moving hourglass in the corner the scanners starting to go wobbly so the legs kinda fade out ^^

this ones of a Diaboli fellow with rather short horns (younger ones have smaller horns in my lil old imagining box:P) I\'d really like to do him in a black outfit with gold trim and then his red skin and white hair making the whole pic look all lovely, this was also another excuse to try and make the flaming effect integrate into the finished work better... lol when I get around to it

and this ones of a young enki lady with a nice wierd wep, the wep itself was based on a cats paw, its got the hook shape and the ball and chain w/ratchet on the end is for pulling things back (however the most our cats manage is the occasionan cockie from under the fridge) and the girl itself was me trying to accomodate the \"hairless\" enki, though to be honest I do like the idea of them having hair as well as fur, more variety and chances for originality etc... but thats more a matter of personal preferenc than anything else

anywho, your comments, suggestions, interesting requests and/or words of wisdom are welcome

lol and if there is any assistance I can be of anyone I\'d be glad to help, but as I\'m sure you can see I\'m not all that far along myself :P

edit: I got the edit button working... well it started working and I\'m taking credit for it, but I also finished the scetch of a request I received, if anyone else has one just dump em in the thread (helps me keep organised ^^)

Sengus ^

this one was really interesting, from the impression I initially got it was somewhat more of your standard robes and mysterious figure routine, but with the addition of the whole martial arts barehanded-buttkicker thing it got more fun ^^ still unsure as to the colouring too, lol I have a real penchant for black red and assorted other oogy boogy shades, ahh well (and dont worry the pendant/clothing detail will come later

and still tossing up whether or not to make the arms covered which will make them mesh better with the rest of the outfit or whether to leave them bare to show off the badarse scar on his left arm... ahh decisions decisions

Seriously, Kintall that picture is so beautiful. Everything looks awesome. Black and red (also grey) are not bad colors btw :)

EDIT: Just looked some more at the mask and the shape at the top allowing for the horns to come out naturally, is really great. Thanx :D

Back again, TAFE started up so I havent got any free time till monday... yech,  lol so no colouring, but given the boring nature of my time ahead  there will be scetches coming along still ^^

speaking of which -->

this one is the result of the teacher deciding not to show for over 45 minutes into the class.... fugging joyus, its basicaly the Father Sengus mask again but  with a slightly more rounded face, anywho

rosmerelmer:
yup you can colour him if you like, just dont forget to credit the original artist when you post it or the buzzards of plagerism will pull your nipples off with fishhooks (not as fun as it sounds surprisingly)

zorbels:
I am glad you like it, and whilst some may agree the ball is a little out of wack with the generalised arrgh giargh-ness of the weapon, I think it sets it off perfectly... ^^ nothing like the sight of the worlds happiest morning star coming at you to make your day all the more confusing :P

Father Sengus:
I am very glad you like it and yoru admission of love is nice to hear ^^ (I have had the day from hell/hades/adelaide).. lol it is your alter ego after all, the barefoot can be arranged, but yeah I have no free time for about a week (work+study=sad bucky) so dont expect colouring any time soon, though if you have a good colourist in mind I did manage to ink it at the least so after a short approval lol... that sounds terrible, I\'m sure it would be cool to send her/him away to be coloured by her/him

and p.s I found something cool out on the new laptop I have, if you look at the scetches from a really sharp angle on a flatscreen (well outside normal viewing angle)... well youl just have to try it out^^

:D So true Kintall, a nice Smack good morning sunshine! I like your new piece of work as well. Does it take you long to do these sketches? Oh and I also forgot to mention in my last post that I really like the very first post on this page. That is an awesome suit and just the character itself is eye catching. well heres something to keep peoples amused(mainly myself in rather dull html class), this one was a test to see if I could colour on the dodgy little touchpad on my laptop... lol  wether it worked I\'l leave up to you^^

and on another note..  someone was bad, for those of you yet to be bad, make sure you read the fanart rules, those who do not will be forever thrown into the pit of irate stonefish( ^^ this is reminding me of how I completely lost the plot at seperot, who\'d have thought combining my own insecurity, instablity and ego would make such a firey lunatic of me?^^  stilll a tad embarresed about that one, lol ah well)

as per usual any ideas comments suggestions costructive remarks or good solid critiques on individual works or my method in general are welcome as always...

lol ahh well, oh and it seems I have aquired a colourist so I will be piffing the Father Sengus pic at him and hoping for the best... I have another scetch to show... but the scetch is in my laptop bag which my mate inadvertantly buggered off with in his car... death will soon follow him....  and if tonite turns dull I might have a stab at the colouring myself ... so tired, spent all bloody day at work moving furnature because some people are too cheap to [rant about stupid coworkers/customers deleted due to exessive expletives] and then my laptop runs away...

and I\'m eagerly awaiting something in the unoficcial fanart contest thing that I can actually DO.. lol  possibly some sort of cartoony character design based one next month... hmm possibly not :P

and yeah as usual comments requests or suggestions are always apreciated... lol gods I\'m insecure/impatient/in constant need of validation.... IN-something certainly :P

!!EDIT!!

lol I decided to give it a colour (yes things is dull indeed), and I also decided to try and spend a lot of effort on the light and shadows and am really happy with the result, the shadows bring it a lot more depth than my other works lol... damn I may have to continue doing this now.... noooo effort noooo

This ones Father Sengus^^, colour wise its far from the brightest but the colouring is some of the more thoughtful so far (Sengus mate if you need a larger/smaller/transparentBG one for a particular website or use PM me and I\"l drop him to you)

as always comments and sugestions are always etc etc etc you know the drill :P lol GIMME!

Wow Kintall! The coloring is really awesome. I must say you chose unexpected colors, but the more I look at them, the more I think they are cool. Great job!
Though, it would have been cool to see black instead of purple (even though I know the two colours are really common). :P

I love the coloring style as it looks very...clean? neat...something. Once again, thank you so much!

Hopefully the artists will give you some good feedback cause I\'m no good :D

Sengus, I think the words you\'re looking for for the coloring style are \"awsomely realistic\". The shading gives it shape beyond the 2D format of it in my opinion. Looks great Kintall :)

Howdy

Very nice Kintall! I like how your shading is so smooth and clean, especially on the coloured Father Sengus picture. Also the fur and eye you did with laptop look very realistic. :)

Ahh thankyou thakyou

Father Sengus:

Once again I am happy I have made a rendition you like, is always nervous posting peoples characters, and yeah after rummaging around on your char the idea of him doing the whole orphanage thing means the colours shouldnt be too \"Oooogy booogy\" plus scary or serious comes very little down to looks or clothing anywho, youl just have to carry that part off yourself ^^

Farren Kutter:

Thanks... that colouring was a real challenge, and it all started when I was rubbing off a bit of misplaced highlight and I noticed how well it looked... spent the next however long fiddling about with it trying to get a relative level of light and shadow across the whole dingie

Cherppow:

Ahh feedback from the colouring man imself^^ twah twah indeed. thankyou, smooth and clean is somethign I really like, some of my favourite artists are soem of the most miimalistic yet through such simple clean lines portray supreme depth and form with flawles composition throughout... ^^ this is what I aim for, but with 3d moddeling aproaching soon-ish (second semester, not first T_T) I am goign to have to broaden my horizons into more texture and rough based form portrayals, lol for this I hope for your and other peoples support throuout this lovely art community

oh and plus in case youre reading this thread ArcaneFalcon, I\'d like to thank you for the unnoficial fanart contest, I wish I had a means to participate :P but even so this community needs warming up, (lol I think they gotten lazy so keep up the poking/whipping^^) and if I had anything to contribute besides encouragement I\"d post this in that thread :P

plus I have drawn a dingie, this was a work done number that was mainly drawn to practice colouring female stomachs, well lighting them anyways

scetch and colored one supplied for all :P

lol the secret is... I don\'t, just look at some of Cherppow\'s, Djagg\'s or Karyuu\'s. if your going to learn from anyone they would be a top ticket (textures scare me) and also theres nothing wrong with two shade colouring it just means you have to be harder/more careful with the threshhold of where you cut the shading off.
and let me assure you Shading, lighting, and colouring are still quite alien to me, whilst I am very pleased with Father Sengus\' lighting I still have a veeeery long ways to go, AND ....^^  just tonite I have figured another facet of Photoshops depths, the \"make line smooth with vector stuff\" as I call it or \"pen\" tool if you must be pedantic :P

normaly as I said in that tablet thread I have trouble with the jittering over long curved lines, and I lose the smoothness and accuracy in my lineart, with this handy dandy tool I managed to get some really smooth curves in the lineart of this pic I did today, and given I have flash MX class tomorrow the more I get vectors into my mindset the better, anyways heres the pic, its not finished yet, I just bucketed the colours in and dropped a red shape in the BG :P

As per usual, comments, questions, suggestions, critiques, advice, cactuars and/or interesting requests (of characters/things yours or otherwise ) are more than welcome on works both new and old.

Peace out \"chall\"

EDIT[/u]

oh..^^ and I\'ve got a question for any photoshoppers out there, that last picture that was done (inked) with a mouse using the pen tool, but my question is how do I make the stroke of the line automaticaly grade from the max to the min of the line thickness, the closest i\'ve found is mking it grade down in thickness over a set distance, or go from thin to fat to thin again over the course of the line if i use the \"simulate pressure\" tickbox (and have the brush properties set to size jitter-pen presure not the fade I used for the set distance size gradation)

lol and I\'m a little ego-deflated that no ones got any requests for me, i remember \"back in the day\" I had more than I could possiby do :P, *sigh* ahh well

Howdy!

Ahem. *erases his name from the list* There you go, the real masters. ;) I\'m just trying to learn like the rest.

That is some clean ink right there Kintall, looks like an useful tool you\'ve found. Skills! *nod nod* Hmm, I don\'t have Photoshop, so can\'t help you with the question. I may be able to give some tips on texturing in 3D when that time comes. If you\'re running low on subjects, you\'re always welcome to draw a pic of Cherppow.

lol beware, I may hold you to that, and your colouring really is good, its really a challenge for me to try and colour things with texture in mind, up until I first appeare on this board I had honestly never really used colour or shading for that matter.

and I also feel like I kinda owe the arty/requesty bunch here for helping me get what little improvement I have over this time. so in all seriousness if theres anything I can do to help just drop me a post here or a PM, I know I\'m somewhat limited in what I can do but you never know lol...

though I did have one idea...^^

that unoficcial fanart contest thingie, well whilst the challenges are outside my normal run of things I decided to give it a go anyways. if I\'m going to say I\'m trying to improve my weak areas (backings etc) then I should probably get to it on them :P

heres my entry: lol be kind...

I hope this one looks swampy enough, I wanted to make the dwellings look like hollowed fungus with little bridges, and after numerous attempts to paint the backing I decided to colour a b/w one instead so as to at least get an idea for what base layers to work from... much further to go /sigh

still looks OK I rekon, as for the likeing shiny things well thats what made me decide not to have any of them out/visible, I wanted to go with paranoid greedy dingie mentality of hoarding and hiding anything shiny :P(that and I do enough shiny rubbish as is anyways^^)
also if I get around to doing the inside/furnature I\'l see if I can protray walls of sortof straw with bits of \"bling\" sewn through them and a non directional lighting produced by all the shiny dingie in the huts

anywho I look forward to seeing what other people come up with(lol if only because it will improve the look of the thread after I dump this ugly mofo onto it^^), Cherppow this is so your shtick^^ you\'d best reveal yours soon bwahahaha etc etc

As per usual, comments, questions, suggestions, critiques, advice, moogles and/or interesting requests (of characters/things yours or otherwise ) are more than welcome on works both new and old.

Hi

Umm, I may have to take some time to come up with a decent description (http://www.planeshift3d.com/wbboard/thread.php?threadid=9622&boardid=22&page=8#145). ;) Basically he\'s an ordinary young Ylian male who works in his fathers smithy and... does itemy stuff. You can forget about the armoured figurine for now.

But... I\'m one of the judges there. O.o
Ok, here\'s a little encouragement: http://users.tkk.fi/~vrantapu/PlaneShift/gobblehome.gif
I\'m going to use this as reference when judging. :)

SAUSAGES!!!

gods I want some free time, you know the most peaceful time of my days of late is waiting at the train station, cause theres not a single thing I should be doing or anything..  until that acursed worm of steel and burning brake fluid pulls up to toke me to my place of mental death... I\"m going to start offering it coins... in pairs

lol but it does give me time to do a little drawing, I started on Cherppows picccie, still need to ink colour and add beard and facial features, but that will have to wait until I can... get... some...   *sob* free time... *bitchmoanbitchcomplainetcetctec*

oh and Cherppow I am curious, is the big armoured dingie some sort of long forgotten warrior self or a past life or possibly his... eeeevil twin or the like? (I am incredibly curious personage)

Edit: lol.. peanut?  well I peanut a lot too so I guess its appropriate^^

Hello again Kintall.
*continues the dialogue*

I love it so far! As long as you don\'t colour him green with pink pimples, it\'ll be great. :)
And don\'t lose your sleep over this one, there\'s no hurry at all. Listen to funky music and sip cola, continue drawing when you feel like it.

*wears a hood and dims the lights, then explains in deep voice*
The story behind the armoured character is shrouded in mists of mystery. As far as Cherppow is concerned, he only remembers seeing this character in his dreams, not once while awake. The dreams are often hard to understand, let alone assess, leaving the characters true identity and agenda unsolved. However, deep inside Cherppow feels they\'re more than dreams... more like... visions.

(I\'ve written few stories about Cherppow and the armoured one, but they\'re far too crude to post anywhere ;) )

haha, well I made something   --->   is a sig that was requested, and I found some time today after my training... dear gods

OH! and while I was doing forklift training today one of the guys who was also there to \"learn\" actually decapitated a witches hat, instead of braking he tilted the forks down first pinning the top of the witches hat,  then scraping the top part of it completely off...  that wiches hat in particular was supposed to represent a person we had to avoid... O_O;  it terrifys me to think hes probably going to get his licence, gods help us all

lol anyways back on topic heres the sig for Sengus its fairly small filesize for an animated gif too, considering the frames.. ^^ (I remembered the load time buffer at the start this time too :P) and I rilly like the way the main name fades in, I\'l have to use that way again ^^ possibly improve on it Hmmmmm.....

Kintall, it\'s incredible!!! The nervousness when I click on your thread to see what you have done, and the happiness when I see the awesome result. Thank you so much, and don\'t worry, I won\'t be bothering you again now! ;)
