Hi,
I tried to build PS from CVS sources (after this decsription: http://laanx.fragnetics.com/index.php?page=build_debian), but CVS access fails:
oliver@bigbox:/mnt/hdb5/planeshift/cvstest$ cvs -d:pserver:anonymous@cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/cal3d login
Logging in to :pserver:anonymous@cvs.sourceforge.net:2401/cvsroot/cal3d
CVS password:
oliver@bigbox:/mnt/hdb5/planeshift/cvstest$ cvs -z3 -d:pserver:anonymous@cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/cal3d co -D \"2005-05-15 00:00:00\" cal3d
can\'t create temporary directory /tmp/cvs-serv22988
Too many links
Did I do something wrong, or is that a problem of the SF.net server?
Thanks,
Oliver

It\'s a problem with the cvs server I believe. Anonymous access with sourceforge is pretty bad atm.

The problem is on the SourceForge server side. I found it in the hard way thinking that something was wrong in my side -- almost reinstalled Gentoo (and who knows Gentoo also knows how long it takes :D ). Luckily I did a Google search first and found that these messages come from the server.

It seems to be a problem with the anon access to CVS on SF servers. It has been like this for a while...
-
If it\'s just a matter of the anonymous access, couldn\'t the devs offer a CVS dump of the whole stuff?
-
It could be an idea to have a daily CVS dump available somewhere.
It is matter of getting a script somehow and some space for storing the file.
Maybe getting an idea on how CS does it could be a start.
Bereror made me notice that the problem is with CS and here there is an useful link:
