There used to be a link (for idiots like me) that gave a walk thru for fixing the black or dark areas. It was done for people who don\'t know much about creating text files and all that technical stuff. I have tried to find it and can\'t. Would it be possible to put that link on this thread? It would be greatly appreciated.

Try to use the PSClientCMD (available in the Guide)

Yes, the PSClientCMD client mentions a command that you can use to help.
In essence, your options are to run with the argument \"-relight\" which will take a really long time (hours if you load all maps) but yield normal lighting (you only need to do this once, so if you use psclientCMD, take the command out of the command file after one run), or to run with \"-fullbright\" which will make everything bright and remove lighting altogether (need to use this command on every launch). I suggest the latter, personally, as there will be updated lightmaps in the next release anyway. You can use Terminal or PSClientCMD to do this. I suggest PSClientCMD (especially if you use -fullbright), but if you really want to do it through Terminal, I can explain that as well.
