Posting a screenshot will probably help a lot more, since your description is a bit hard to puzzle out.. :) How can the menu move closer to your character? That\'s the part that confuses me. If you shrunk it so badly that you can no longer even see most of the buttons, take a look at the GUI toolbar messed up? READ THIS! (http://planeshift.oodlz.com/wbboard/thread.php?threadid=17332&boardid=33&styleid=4) thread.

Mine moved inward also, now blocks side view. I had fallen in DR, and it went wonky, then when I came back, it was stuck, and it won\'t move. My tool menu for shortcuts, is also shrunk so small the resize button isn\'t there, and it won\'t resize (not the GUI--the menu for the shortcuts).

No. that doesn\'t work. The tool bar is moved to the right about 1\".  The button bar for the shortcuts, is shrunk down too small to resize it.

When I click in the area mentioned it just opens the nearest button, click, right click, control click.  Is there not a way to move the tool bar, or to reset the shortcut bar?

Yes, and it\'s in the thread! :P Did you read Cad\'s post at all?

[Ulp] Yes, I did read it--a litle bit--I read the first line, and decided it was another complaint for a different bug based on the picture.

I tried the idea at the top of that page. Oh well, sorry, now I\'ll rewrite the txt code.
Thanks.

Title: move gui button bar
Post by: Gripen on February 09, 2006, 12:40:46 am
I found out how to move the in game button bar without rewriting any files.

shift+click+drag anywhere in the window except in the middle, near the buttons, or on the chat box.

**you may have to reduce camera sensitivity numbers if using a smaller screen--depending on what you have set to activate mouse zoom**

***This post information is for the gui with the angled button bar in the upper left corner--see next post***
Title: New gui
Post by: Gripen on February 09, 2006, 06:11:44 pm
Very interesting. I corrupted my shortcuts.xml somehow so that the shortcuts window was blurbled out; this caused me to do the Planshift.cfg rebuild described in this thread.

when I came back to game all of the gui interfaces had changed, and I didn\'t like them. My button bar turned into two vertical rows that would distort on resize.

So I decide to do an update--good thing. When I come back I still have two vertical rows of button, but now they are resizable without distortion--and all my windows are transparent, NO MORE NOT KNOWING SOMEONE IS THERE STARING AT YOU TRYING TO TALK.

BEST OF ALL, now the pssetup works well enough to actually get 32 bit screen depth--and the game seems to look much more awesome (32 bit color, niiice).

So I guess the gui you get depends on which mirror you update from. The button bar I had before was an angled one in the upper left corner, that had to be move using shift+drag--now all the windows are moveable using just drag. I LIKE IT.
