I appear to be having troubles with the transparency mapping on objects. instead of showing what is directly behind the mapped object, it shows me the blue background of the sky. and when im in the sewer i get a real funky smearing effect.
my system specs are:
-Win XP
-p4 2.2ghz
-512 mb RAM
-Geforce 5200
(i dont think i did, but if i left something out tell me)
Ill get some screen shots up in a few minutes...
ok, here:
(http://img523.imageshack.us/img523/6646/alphawtf0zx.th.jpg) (http://img523.imageshack.us/my.php?image=alphawtf0zx.jpg)
Fig 1- If you look real close you can see that the lower portion of the wing is obstructing the other one. so i think it is showing me what is behind the object behind the trans-mapped object
Fig2- also you can see here that the transparency mapped tiles are making what is behind them invisible so you see what is behind that
i hope that made sense, if not here is a sort of diagram:
camera
| trans-mapped object (object 1)
| | object behind trans-mapped object(object 2)
| | | object behind the last one (object 3)
v v v v
o 1 2 3
so the camera would see object 3 because, for whatever reason, the transparency map on object 1 is obstructing the view of object 2.
so....yeah, why is this happening?

Yep, it does that...
-
so it does that to everyone else too?
-
Yep, well known problem. I think it\'s a CS issue.

And sometimes the parts are blue instead of transparent as they should be.
