Title: Running and screaming
Post by: defender43 on February 04, 2006, 02:21:18 am
My IC character is a complete coward. When he gets attacked by anything he thinks can hurt him, he runs. And screams.

Unfortunately, I don\'t see a way to run and scream at the same time. To shout for help, he has to stop running (allowing whoever to catch up) so I can type in \"Help! Murderer!\" at 10 WPMs.

Perhaps there could be another set of alternate controls that the chat window wouldn\'t respond to like the number pad, controlling just movement, so you can call for help AND run like hell\'s after you...

Remember, \"Just because you\'re paranoid doesn\'t mean nobody\'s after you\"

You can set some key to autorun instead of autowalk, hit it, and type ;)

*edit* But I suppose the problem is then the speed at which you can do this. You\'d still have to choose a direction for your character to run in though, so it can\'t be a complete macro/shortcut/thingie, but perhaps when we have more emotes, a /runaway one would be available - so your character could still scream and wave his or her hands around while moving.

*Remembers trying to help Karyuu with suggesting possible emotes :P *

You could also just bind \"/shout Help! Murder\" To a key.  That way you wouldn\'t have to type for as long and could more easily control your running

Waylander\'s suggestion is actually the most sensible and easy :P So I guess there you go..? Until more animations become availble.
