Title: Bug in Win2k
Post by: Holli on December 19, 2002, 05:20:34 am
I just installed this fine looking game, to my disappointment, it crashed just as it was about to load the game world. My computer is an Athlon T-bird 800mhz running Win2k with SP3, 256mb ram GeForce 2 GTS DDR 64mb vid card. I tried the game in OpenGL and in software, in every compatiblity mode, (win98 and 95) the same error occured, just as it was going to load the game, it said \"Pshift.exe has created errors, you must restart the program\" or something like that. Any help would be great. I wam interested in MMORPGs, but I am poor, so you can see planeshift\'s appeal to me :) Open source is totally awesome... I\'m going to try to install the game on linux, just to see if i can get it working. I\'ll let u guys know. Thank you for not being greedy, free software is awesome.

Try changing the color depth to 16 bit.  That worked for someone before.

Yeah, that was me.  Changing your color depth in the config file to 16 bit lets it load no probby.

Does that have anything at all to do with what she or anyone else on this board said?
