I am sure you all have heard the USA\'s vice prez had a hunting acident where he acidently shot his frend with bird shot while quale hunting.
So what do you think? Proof that Cheney is not fit to be vice president and should resign, or just an unfortunate accident?
-
What has a hunting accident got to do with being vice presidant? Nothing at all. It is just an accident.

So what if he shot his friend by mistake what does that have to do with him being a vice president?
Anyhow shouldnt we be talking about a more important
issue like the Brithish soldiers beating up them Iraq guys? Who cares about Cheney shooting his bum chum.

I wish it were proof to show hes unfit/ should resign.. but this time I think it was just an accident. Im not too worried about him anyway *cough faulty pacemaker cough*. I did hear some people wanting him to resign.. this is the one time ill defend him and say that those people are idiots :P

Oh yes, definately. That\'s not an idiotic statement at all. Maybe I should quit my job because I threw this bouncy ball, you know the bouncy kind, and hit my girlfriend in the eye.
Also this one time, today, I through a Dr. Pepper Can and hit my roommate in the face. Actually I\'ve done that three times today. I\'m definately not fit for the Video Rental business.

Wait just a nano secound lets not forget how many politicers and football managers went down in flames for saying and doing something stupid.Im not saying hes unfit for the job im just saying the media like to make a huge deal about this stuff, he better have a good explanation.
-
FYI: He shot the guy in the back. This explains the damage to the upper left ventricle of the heart; the whole reason the guy is in critical, and why this is not just something that has blown over yet.
-
Thats a preeeeety misleading title you got there...
(thats the reason old guys shouldn\'t hunt)

The uh, reason this might concern...yeah I guess...concern us about Dick\'s role as our vice-head of state might be that he tried to keep it on the down low when we all know it is important national news. Ted Kennedy isn\'t allowed to forget for a minute that he killed someone accidentally, and its been decades. The whole, \"Aw shucks\" defense isn\'t cutting it.
Me personally, I give less than a crap about his poor marksmanship (figures), and more of a crap about...what the hell is he doing taking a vacation? I want these cheeseheads to DO THEIR JOBS!!! Enough with the copious vacations in the middle of a war. They vacation more than my parents, and they\'re retired.
-
His friend knew something and he didn\'t want the information leaked...
-
So he took him out to the woods and shot him in the back? Did he even finish the job?
Anyway if his friend did know something I think he wouldnt let anyone know he shot him.

Looks like sanity is back in style. Most of the papers and news shows are reporting it for what it is. Of cource the The NewYork Times seems to be employing people like Kixxe but generally most stories are sticking to the facts.
Kixxe where did you get your information about the shot in the back. Here is my source....
http://www.cnn.com/2006/images/02/14/CheneyAccidentReport.ap.pdf
Look down at the bottom of the report. It clearly says FACE.
I actually agree with Black about the vacation stuff. Congress, and the President should never take \"vacation\" If they want to get out of the office so to speak, then schedule a diplomatic meeting in Itally at the Olimpics or some other place that they \"need\" to be. However, Cheney is the vice President, so he is always on vacation. At least untill something happens to the Prez.

Hello,
If you ask me, the hunting accident is just that, an accident. It seems to me that people who hunt know the risk at which they are putting themselves.
The real problem with Cheney\'s Vice Presidency is the immence secrecy that prevents the American voters from knowing his role as a policy maker. This makes him an elected official who is inaccountable to the public. Now, Cheney should be more forthcoming about what he does, but we can\'t expect him to do that. Very few politicians are very forthcoming about anything. Thus, it is the responsibility of the press to inform the voters of what Cheney\'s office does in order to make him accountable to the American people. The press have long helped to keep governmental power in check by forcing such accountability upon our government. However, the press have only until recently failed to perform this duty that they owe the people.
Every democratic society runs the risk of electing bad government now and then. That is why it is said that eternal vigilance is the price of freedom. So I feel that it is my patriotic duty to be eternally vigilant.
Please pardon my rant, but I feel very strongly about this. :)
Thanks.

Well, sometimes I got the feeling that the risk of electing a bad US government now and then could be decreased significantly, if people did not vote for Republicans. :P
However, I don\'t care much whether Cheney shot his friend or not, be it in the face or in the back or in another place where it really hurts. But what do we learn from that: never go hunting with Cheney (or any of these guys), it might be your last hunt. ;)

Ha ha! I agree with you. :) The scary thing is, I would rather traditional Repulicanism over the bizarre crap we have now!
