Post by: randy on February 16, 2006, 07:44:55 pm
Is it possible to send output of the chat/command window to a logfile?

There are options to do that in... the options.  The files are saved to... the logs folder.  You could\'ve figured that out yourself.  ;)

If you check the in game options->Interface->Chat there is a choice of chat and system logging which ends up in /planeshift/logs

System message logging is off by default.

Ah... I run the linux client and was looking for logs in my local directory...  FYI on my install they are stored in the /opt/planeshift/CHAR_NAME_chat.txt or /opt/planeshift/CHAR_NAME_system.txt

For a linux system this is actually atypical.   A more logical place to put them would have been in the users home dir, or in the /var/log dir.

But its not a big deal now that I know where they are :)

Ciao!
