Title: "too far away to attack"
Post by: Bleegoingus on February 17, 2006, 07:40:06 pm
Ever since the big change a couple weeks ago (the weapons wipe), I am unable to fight any npc.

It happened right after the change, every time I walk up to a npc and initiate a fight, it says \"You are too far away to attack\" and the NPC goes wandering off into a wall and then eventually dissapears.

At the time, I figured it must be a bug introduced, and would get cleared up, so I stayed away a week or so.

I just hopped on today, and the exact thing is happening... no one else seems to have any issues.. an the npc i start fighting is unable to hit me either....

p.s. I did try to search the forum, it kept giving unique contraint errors too...

I\'ll try a guessing...
but perhaps you think your char is there, while it isn\'t.

/unstick should show you if I\'m right or not.
If you go to an NPC, try to attack him and get the message, use /unstick if you\'re teleported really far away from the location you thought you were in, then I was right.

Before typing a lot about the issue, which origins I still have not clear, I\'d prefer to know if that is indeed what happened in your case.

This happens to me all the time.

The solution is to /unstick , then try again.

Don\'t /unstick twice in a row too quickly, or you\'ll be sent to the death realm.

That was annoying too many people who were doing it by accident, so I removed it a bit ago.

and before anyone asks making this go more off topic, it\'s \'/die\' now, which IMO makes mores sense than a double unstick anyways.
