Title: a new way to learn
Post by: nightstalian on February 21, 2006, 01:26:04 am
this idea hasn\'t ever been thought
I\'ve searched it too.

lets say your fighting a ceature(who had a sword) and it hits you with the flat of its blade !bing! you just tought of a new way to attack. so you roll out of the way stand up try to mimick the ceatures attack but instead you slip and accidentily throw your sword into the creature killing it.

So basis of paragraph
-need to be able to learn new ways of attacking by mimickery and serendipity.

As an idea it\'s good, but... How would you implement it ingame?
I agree that we are trying to make an alternate reality here, and trying it to make it as real as possible, but I emphazise, as real as POSSIBLE. To have so many ways to fight as you can have in real life would be crazy, do you have any idea of how many UNARMED fighting styles there are in real life? now add armed fighting styles. If that wasn\'t enough, keep in mind that, in combat, which styles are being faced have a deep impact on the outcome, are weapons being used on both sides, is only one side using weapons, what weapons are being used, is the unarmed style meant to defend from armed oponents, and so on, so you would have to have the game calculate that as well. The solution to this is easy, let\'s keep it simple.
