Title: Missing files ???

Hello !
I\'m under linux : Mandriva 2006, 32bit.

I downloaded the .run file and installed planeshift. Then I launched updater, tried to play and it told me I didnt have the correct version.

So I searched a bit and found a nice topic explaining how to install.
I downloaded this :
http://www.zobiana.com/planeshift/PlaneShift_CBV0.3.012P-r2.i686.bin
and executed it. But during the installation, it reported lots of missing files :
for example :
petition.xml
charcreate.xml
credits_config.xml
creditswindow.xml

etc... so I aborted the installation for I understood that a mistake was hiding somewhere...

And now I\'m completly lost... what should I do ?...
I\'m really new to linux so I don\'t know many things...

did you follow all the instructions including applying the R4 patch?

The R4 ?...
I installed the run file, deleted all files in the firectory exept the art folder, and executed the update installer as told in the topic... shouldn\'t I have done that ?

you need to apply the next patch down in this Link (http://www.planeshift3d.com/wbboard/thread.php?threadid=19389&boardid=41&styleid=2)  delete the psclient.bin updater.bin and pssetup.bin then replace with the ones in the patch.

although as a new client is due imminently it may be an idea to wait a few days.

lanser, the link you gave me is exactly the one I had.
When applying the r2 patch, it tells me some files are missing in the patch. :-(

forget everything that has been posted...  there is a new client and all the rest is old info!

No I don\'t have the client yet...

hmmm now i installed 3.013 but when I try to lauch updater it tells me :

[root@Pc-alex T?l?chargement]# planeshift-updater

is it normal ?...
and when I try to apply the patch as described here (http://www.planeshift3d.com/wbboard/thread.php?threadid=19389&boardid=41) it tells me (again) that files are missing in the .bin...

Edit file /usr/bin/planeshift-updater and change \"psupdater\" to \"updater\". You can also run updater directly:
/opt/planeshift/updater

A word of advice: do not play games as root. If you are unlucky, you could harm your system or endanger its security.
If you have installed PS as root, but you are running it as ordinary user, make sure that you have access to all game files in directory /opt/planeshift.
