I\'ve gotten on since the update a few times, the longest being about a 15 minute stint.
While getting my UI set up, I found my middle button mouselook wasn\'t working so I went into options to check. It was set to middle but I changed it to both right and left just to try and neither worked.
The TAB key still does work but I had become accustomed to using the middle mousebutton.
What additional info could/should I provide to help solve this?

Same thing happening with me as well, so it looks like something in the code just needs to be poked.
And so the bugs accumulate... ;)

Yeah, it\'s been too long since the last release... :/
-
Thanks for the info, I\'m glad I didn\'t mess anything up, hehe.
-
same problem here, worked fine before but broken now :)
-
Same here. I hope we don\'t have to wait for the next major release...
-
I like how this thread already has 5 replies...
Even though mine was posted first, and it mentioned this bug.
But I love you anyway. <3

Same problem here :(
An one thing more... so noooobish to argument who put the first thred about it.... how old are you?
-
Is there a way to solve this problem ?
-
Nope. Just broken. Gotta wait until someone fixes it.

My big difficulty isn\'t so much with the middle mouse button mouselook not working as it is with mouse sensitivity being waaaay too low. Even walking through the DR now I have trouble keeping myself from falling off the side using mouselook. I tried changing it in the options and I tried changing it manually in the file but sensitivity still isn\'t near as high as I would like it to be. Is there a fix for this, or was it intentional? Any response would be welcome.

This works both on Linux and Windows (I don\'t have a Mac computer to test it).
Go to the data\\options directory (C:\\Program Files\\PlaneShift Crystal Blue\\data\\options on Windows).
Delete your existing mouse.xml file (if you have one).
Copy mouse_def.xml to mouse.xml and then edit the mouse.xml file with a text editor (WordPad on Windows, Notepad seems to be not working because there are only LineFeed character at the end of lines).
Locate the line with action=\"MouseLook\" and make the following change:
Make sure that you use upper/lower case characters exactly as shown here.
Mouselook should be now working.

Sure, here they are:
mouse_def.xml (http://www.vaikene.net/files/mouse_def.xml)
mouse.xml (http://www.vaikene.net/files/mouse.xml)
Save them into your data/options directory (C:\\Program Files\\PlaneShift Crystal Blue\\data\\options on Windows).
You may need to right-click these links and use the Save As... command in order to download them instead of showing in your browser window.
Next time you run the updater it will replace the mouse_def.xml file with an old one, so either make that file read-only or keep a copy somewhere else.
EDIT: In the game options it will still show you that MouseLook is not assigned, but it works with the middle-button.
-
Ho lol I copied your files but nothing happens, mouse still does not work :)
btw the 2 files were the same :)
Another workaround ?
-
does that xml solve the problem he talked about? Prior to this client i was able to change my mouse sensitivity and be able to look around as I liked. now the mouse look just gets lost if I move to fast.
As a result I basically have to use my keyboard to turn while running as it moves faster and more importantly is consistent while turning.
Goldir Let me know if you get this problem resolved
-
Well, I have done some investigation, and found it is possible to use mouse-mouselook by just changing data files.
Change the Then, delete Keys.xml, or add in these lines:
Which can also be found in the keys_def.xml file.
I think I know what needs to change to increase the speed of both mouselooks, but that would require a new client anyways, so that may be a bit....
-
strange... I don\'t have this problem ... well yay :)
-
stfr : your workaround works perfectly for me :)
third mouse button now works as I am used to :) Thankies !!
Just another thing, can we increase the horizontal sensibility over 100 ?

I\'ve downloaded the latest version of the game and I have a new problem. I can\'t use my mouse for moving. I check the options and everything is allright... Whats the problem. Without using the mouse for moving the game is very hard to play. Please help!
-
I don\'t think the mouse can be used for moving in directions, but rather moving your camera around, like you would your head. We used to have a click-and-run option, but it has been (temporarily?) removed.
-
Well, it appears in the control options still... so I guess currently is bugged.
I think Zan managed to use it, but hesitates to say how *whistles*
EDIT:
Go to program files/planeshift crystal blue/data/options
edit keys.xml file.
on:
add this:
Save the file. The ctrl+mouse click functionality is back.
Credits go to Nurandia.
Direct download link (please rename the file to keys.xml)

The issue here, is that people who updated have the old version. Delete keys.xml and it\'ll use the defaults which have had this in it for a while. Just reset your keys to whatever you want, and it\'ll save a new keys.xml.

Man this is just TOO much ::|

I rewrote the controls and movement systems for this update. Everything should be working now. If not, open a new thread, as this one is no longer applicable.
