Title: client crash when loading Jayose map before entering the world

ok,
I have a very funny problem :
-I run the new client
-my graphics driver are up to date (and the related stuff is ok)
-new client worked fine 12 hours ago
-I log, choose my alt, then the client crashes when I load the map
- I was inside Jayose library when the server crashed
- when I load the world it tries to load the Jayose map and this very moment my ps client crash
- I run WinXP (up to date with ms patches) , p4 2.8 FSB800 1gb ram, nvidia Geforce 4800Ti 256 MB

Ok I think this *might*be related to my location, (that is Jayose library)... This happen every time i try to log.

This happened before (i tried to change my shortcuts) but after 2 or 3 tries I could log again. Now every time i try to enter the game my client crash.....

So far I have tried those things:
-try to log after reinstalling the torrent version (with known bug about the sewers)
-tried after updating (some changes about the bug of the sewers)
-tryed to load the whole set of map (through the setup)

I am a bit clueless.. so any help is welcomed....

Next step:
-install the patch for the sewers (though it seems to be useless to me...)

pS:
I am not complaining but it is a bit annoying :)

Updating does not work at this current time, and likes to bork your install.  Please be patient while it gets fixed.

A12C4, you can free your character from the cage by modyfying the file zoneinfo.xml (it is located in subdirectory \"data\" ). Find the section describing zone \"jayose_inside\" (near end of the file) and move the line referring to map \"jayose\" before the line referring to map \"hydlaa_jayose\". It should look like this:

There is one disadvantage: whenever You login inside library, external walls of library building will be textureless.

my comp won\'t allow me to edit the file. do you have any other advice?

edit: I looked at another thread, and maybe it would be easier for my character to be moved by a GM. The character\'s name is Memienta Moriigal

The best way to get you\'re character moved is by making a new character and file a petition about you\'re main character in game.

This way all GM\'s ingame can see that you are stuck.

Ok, I moved Memienta Moriigal  to Hydlaa_Plaza!

But isntead of edit the file zoneinfo.xml I think it works if you do the follow steps, go to PS Folder (directory) then open the data folder and delete the file zoneinfo.xml then run the update.

I did , i deleted the zoneinfo.xml and run the updater, but that didnt help. :(

I am also having this problem. I tried all of the sugested fixes, I even went as far as uninstaling and reinstalling and running the updater. all with the same result. My char name is hops bruer and i was between maps when i crashed. any suggestions for me to try would be apreciated.

Please help! I get EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION at 0041AC3B while waiting for world to load (as above) at Jayose library. I tried fixes (cannot edit file) and petition and am still having the problem. Charecter name is Canina Gehene.

I had the same prob so i made a new charckter but it still froze while loading world so i deleated my old character but it still didn\'t work im dunno if a GM can fix it seeing my character is deleated now but if so my name is Kloud

Your post is a little confusing :) If you deleted your character, he or she is gone - you\'ll have to recreate it, and GMs can\'t do anything for you. However, do make sure that you are trying to use our latest client (version 0.3.013) and that you have run the updater. If you\'ve done all this, please give us more details on what happened - did the client just freeze with absolutely no movement and no error message?

Is it possible to have some type of status update concerning bugs like the Jayose District problem and the problem with the client crashing upon logon when characters are in certain locations?  

I was thinking something similiar to when the server gives you an MOTD upon logon or the little help tips that you get from the server the instant you login.  Something like \"If your client crashes on load please see the PS forums at (insert URL here)\".

Now I know some genius is going to say \"If they can\'t load the prog, how will they see the message?\"  The answer to that is this: They will see it beforehand and know what to do, like using the taxi service sticky.  That way there aren\'t multiple forum threads being opened for the same problem.  

Its just a thought.  I know you guys have the option of doing MOTD messages and changing the help messages from the server and it just seems a waste to let such a useful tool go unutilized.

I?m stuck on (almost?) the same problem me to.

In my case i?ve created a caracter (i?ve just started playing this game) and the game tries to load a map and then i just get a black screen.

I can hear a sound from windows with a message but i cant read it. Only thing to do from that for me is to press Alt+F4 to shut down the game.

Then the message is gone.
I just cant load a map, Anyone knows how to fix this?

Plz, id love start playing.

I?ve got a P 2.4 GHz, 256 Mb RAM, a nVidia Geforce 4 MX, a 10/100 mb/s network card, And a 24 mb/s internet.
