Well, this seems an appropriate place to post a \"hello\" threat...that, and I didn\'t see any recent official greeting thread, so ...well...hello :P
I\'ve been keeping an eye on this game for awhile, and I\'ve finally decided to give it a more in depth look since it looks like you guys are fleshing things out quite a bit. I\'m also highly curious as to the kind and quality of the music that\'s being implemented.
I understand Karyuu has done some of the music, if I read correctly. Well, if time permits, I would also like to contribute in writing some music for the project. I\'ll try and get some of my works uploaded at some point.
I know my way around FL Studio a bit. I\'m currently using version 5. I also have Finale Notepad (can\'t afford the real thing yet *cough*) So I\'ve been using that if I want to write for live musicians. I wrote a couple chamber pieces, mainly a couple quartets
I write various styles, including game music, chamber/small groups, techno-ish stuff, and i\'m currently trying to work on a remix I want to submit to Overclocked Remixes. It can be found here:
http://members.cox.net/james.musicman/SotN-Chapel.mp3
The source track is \"Requiem for the Gods\" From the royal chapel area of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.
Mind you, it\'s still a work in progress, especially towards the end of the middle section before the organ kicks in. And I\'m not using gigasamples (except for a free trumpet I managed to find and convert to SF2) So, don\'t expect my stuff to sound like Jeremy Soule :P But I try my best.
Anyhoo, i\'ll try to find some space to upload some of my other works.
And enough about the music heh. I tend to keep to myself when I play MMO\'s Although sometimes I do engage in light roleplay. Most my RP experience comes from tabletops, and MUDding. So i\'ve done a bit of writing for my characters.
I\'ll probably roll the standard version of my character, which is either a human or elf assassin or rogue type. I usually have him end up fighting with twin short swords. But I\'ll see if I get to do that, depending on where development takes fighting and such.
Sorry for the long post, and mebbe I\'ll see ya in the game if/when the servers behave :P
toodles!

Hiya, welcome to PlaneShift and thanks for making a decent hello thread that extends beyond \"I\'m new!\" ;)
I haven\'t done any contributing to PlaneShift\'s music, no. My realm is 2D art. When I mentioned composing in another thread, it was just for my own entertainment. And I wish sound worked on my computer lately so I could download your work and listen... :) Though perhaps I\'ll stick it onto my iPod and comment once it plays there. Seems the best idea :D
So nice to have another musician in the community, though - especially one that is interested in the team. Hope to stumble onto you in-game, and happy PlaneShifting once things work!

Ah, I see, guess I misunderstood hehe. Well enjoy the tune when you get a chance to listen to it. I\'ve made a lot of progress despite it being a WIP project. Meanwhile I\'ll try to find a better place to post stuff than my ISP\'s webspace since I only have like...10Mb, and this remix takes up 6 of them lol :P Anyways, provided my quality is decent, and acceptable, I wouldn\'t mind working on some stuff, just realize i\'m not exactly hugely prolific you know...life...job hunting...organic chem and a smidgeon of social interaction hehe :P
