Title: Some strange graphic glitches sinc 0.13
Post by: peeg on February 27, 2006, 02:28:21 pm
Heya!
I\'ve noticed some strange new graphic glitches since i\'ve updated to 0.13 yesterday.
First:
I can see through Klyros. Mostly their legs are invisible, sometime i can see through their chests or other bodyparts.

Second:
Trees on ojaroad disappear when i look directly onto them:

When i rotate some degress they are visible again:

I am running Debian GNU/Linux, using a GeForce6600 graphiccard with latest drivers installed.

Any ideas?

Greetings.

It seems there is some visibility problem with transparent textures.

Might depending from some CS problem or PS configuration.

Okay, i\'ve played around with PS\' configuration.
Enabeled/Diabled Fullscreenmode, Antianalising and Filtering ... doesn\'t change anything.

Hehe :)

Transparency of Klyros wings and legs (I wonder why head was skipped) was \"fixed\" by adding binary alpha tags to texture, in most cases for most people it gives good result, probably in this case hardware or drivers don\'t like the change.
Maybe tweaking some alpha related settings in data/config/r3dopengl.cfg would help...

With PS configuration I meant how the models are handled, sorry ;) I was not clear enough!

Hmm, I don\'t know if it is a hardware-related issue, but I\'m also using a GF 6600 and it gives me the same glitches like transparent klyros and disappearing trees.

and this

also the sewers seem incredibly dark now (think oja road before the relight) and relighting the map doesnt help

So it seems the 6600er-series makes troubles.
Are you guys running windows or linux?

Linux, maybe I have to upgrade my drivers. I have the newest version, but in an older revision.

Get the latest gldrivers.xml file from CrystalSpace CVS (CS/data/config/gldrivers.xml). It should fix the problem.

im running on windows, and have downloaded the updated gldrivers.xml file, but apparently the \'-fullbright\' mode is no longer supported by PS

I downloaded the latest file from here:
http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/crystal/CS/data/config/
and replaced the old one.
Didn\'t change anything.

Title: sewers to dark
Post by: sardit on March 01, 2006, 06:29:26 am
I tried this with the uploaded maps from the forum and with the maps provided with the .13 full installer, in both cases its too dark, unless you\'re standing right below a torch or something you can\'t see anything. it used to be pretty light in there.

Running on fc 4 with an nvidia mx 400 newest drivers. The glxdriver.xml didn\'t do anything for me except ruin the hydla_plazaa map, i just fell through the floor to my death, Luckily after another restart it did work in that map though it hadn\'t changed anything in the sewer map.

Using the old correctly lighted map gave zoneinfo errors eg, falling to your death because you walked out of the map at places where the lighting info changes ( first on just around the corner after you get in passed the rats. ) All the textures cling to your screen your mouse stays in a drag over the textures and if you walk into the faulty texture you fall of the edge of the map.

So the only option so far that i found is just taking the darkness as it comes ( unplayable ) or restarting the client with fullbrigth ... Is there any option to fix this map? i can\'t relight the map myself, the pssetup relight panel doesn\'t work because it can\'t find the plugin to load the maps. And psclient -relight relights all the maps and then hangs somewhere in the process after about an hour or 3.

The thread with the maps posted in it is just the same as the one provided in the .13 full installer and is to dark aswell so that isn\'t an option.

Does anyone have a correctely lit map for me?

The sewers are too dark; the map is simply lacking proper ambient lighting.  You can compensate for this with fullbright, if you\'re willing to put up with it\'s side-effects, but you do have the correct map.
