Hmm... Am running this on Chinese Windows XP (traditional) with SP2. AthlonXP 3000+, Radeon 9250 (128), 768 MB DDR SDRAM. More or less fulfill the requirements of game.
Usually no problems with running, except for the frequent disconnections from server.
The problems:
1. After restarting the game for like 10 to 20 times (due to server unavailable and retry after 5 minures), windows will report low virtual memory (set to about 1.5x RAM).
2. Dialog box saying that the psclient had asked to be terminated unusually (with something about visual c++). Not sure what it means. Unsure if it\'s the Chinese XP at fault, or something else in my settings.
Also running: AVG scan.

Some people have reported memory leaks, so it\'s not just you. We\'re not sure what\'s triggering them, yet.

Go into the PS Setup in your start menu and select \"Keep maps loaded.\" It helps.

Already set as such from the beginning, since I wanted to reduce the reload time for the maps. Any other suggestions?
Edit: Perhaps asking an extra question.
After leveling up, my exp was at 20% when I got \"disconnected\". When I reconnect, My exp was down to 15%. The thing is that my character at that point had 15% increment per rat killed, so 5% (after leveling up from previous) to 20%, then suddenly 15% after restart. In fact, a lot of funny things if disconnected during dealing with NPCs also...

Big leaks were in the windows handling and are in the sound.
We are working on them as fast as possible, but it is not easy.

I am experiencing the same problem with runtime errors every 10/15 minutes so i will try to keep maps loaded though with my cpu usage hitting 100% with planeshift running i doubt it will help.

All the different sounds are the source of very strong memory leaks. It took me only 8 minutes at the Arena to reach 1 GB in virtual memory.
Disabling sound in the setup is currently not an option, because if you run the game in the windowed mode, it will crash when switching between the game window and any other windows (known bug that is already fixed in the CVS version).
Current workaround would be disabling all the sounds in the game options. Press the \"O\" key or click on the Options button, then go to Sound -> General.

I tried to disable sound ingame but it had no effect on the errors though when i disabled it outside of game in set-up it worked.Unfortunately instead of runtime errors every 10/15 minutes i am now getting violation access errors maybe every 20/30 minutes.A step in the right direction i suppose.

@Elarra, you get violation errors due to a bug I have introduced, unfortunately, with sound off. The problem is already solved in CVS, but it is not yet available in a release client, though.
Have you tried to put off the action sounds? Spell and such are connected to that and they are the ones, it seems, that creates the majority of the memory issues.

I unticked all of the sounds ingame but still get runtime errors but disabling it outside of game in setup brings me to the violation errors which aren\'t as frequent.I have unticked all the sounds and took the runtime error and disabled sounds in setup to see if i have any joy.
-
Are you sure you get still runtime errors? How much RAM do you have at this point?
Anyway, I was understanding your problem, it was a bit unnecessary to repeat what you did twice in the second message ;-)

Sorry my edit was meant to say i disabled sounds both in game and then in set up to try both together.
I have 2 gigs of ram in pc as i thought only bf2 was a resource hog :)

Yay! Disabling the sound made the game rather stable for my PC, and besides LD once or twice, I had a relatively smooth game for the past few hours. Erm. Actually, not all sounds disabled. Only interface sound remained. I also have the \"keep maps reloaded\" checked. Am running full screen at 1024*768 and never switch windows or anything like that.
