Title: Planeshift 0.13 released via BitTorrent

Currently the files in the updater are all bad, so we are trying a distribution of a complete clean install of Planeshift via Bittorrent! Don\'t use the updater until we give the all clear.

For those of you who can\'t use bittorrent, we will hopefully have the files up on our various mirrors in the not too distant future.

KNOWN ISSUES
- May not start on OS 10.2 due to missing /usr/lib/libmx.dylib
- No sound
- Currently has the wrong data/zoneinfo.xml. See Talad\'s thread in the \"In game problems\" for a zip to correct this - it should fix crashes when entering sewers.

I tried downloading and installing Bittorrent to be able to use the new client. So i finished downloading it and started downloading \"PlaneshiftCB_v13.dmg\" but it is going really slow. Is that a problem with my computer or is it supposed to take over an hour and a half? Thanks.

Post by: dfryer on March 03, 2006, 01:11:00 am: Nightfire: We hope to use bittorrent to get the image up on the mirrors, but that relies on Talad who is really busy, and/or the mirror operators, so while it might not be a long time, it might not be immediately either.

Hopefully also we will have correct files in the updater soon as well, but bittorrent is probably faster.

And if sound were enabled, you\'d be running into all sorts of other sound problems, so for now it\'s both unavailable AND disabled :D

Once I fix the mac-specific sound driver I might be able to have a go at some of the sound bugs.

It was a joy to run up first spiral in death realm as i could see. Tavern to.
[added] been playing with all maps loaded for last few hours all ok a touch slow but ok.

I see on the download page that the game files are still uploading or waiting to be uploaded actually.

The only way to get the game right now is from a torrent swarm.
You will need a torrent client, and the .torrent file from the link for mac--on the download site.
Currently, the game will not run on MacOS versions from pre 10.3. (Maybe 10.4, next month)

I Have tried different actions but to no avail. PS will not open.

I have Mac OS X 10.4.5 2 Ghz PowerPC G5 and 1 GB SDRAM 128 MB VRAM.

I went to the BitTorrent site and copied some of their advice but I do not see an
item by item discussion.

I haven\'t left my computer as a seed permanently because I have limited bandwidth use. If other people with the torrent can start seeding again that would be appreciated but it looks like the Mac PS community isn\'t quite large enought to easily sustain a bittorrent download.

And at 1:00 it said 0 peers and seeding nonstop 62.6 MiB ^ 0.0 KiB/s

When I downloaded the bittorrent, it was incredibly fast and there were over 1000 peers at times. Well over 250 seeds, so it was actually a very robust bittorrent as bittorrents go--at least over the weekend. I\'d try fiddling with bittorrent if you\'re having problems.

As of now: 298 seeds 1012 peers. Looks good to me.
