Title: Memory problems+
Post by: fidohey on March 03, 2006, 02:42:09 pm
After the new version of the game and having some relighting problems with maps i decided to use the        \"-fullbright\" option in order not to touch again the brightness button on my monitor.Unfortunatelly when i use this option the amount of RAM beeing used increases rapidly and after 2-3 map loading, my system uses 2,7GB of RAM!!!(windows increase the swap file)
My OS is WinXp pro SP2 with all the new updates,
the swap file is set to 1GB and my memory is 512Mb.
I think there is a \"leak\" somewhere and if someone has the same problem with me and found a solution please let me know.

Another issue or better a Suggestion,is to split the arena into half i mean like 2 different maps or make it bigger  cause arena is very \"crowded\" and everytime i enter lag is terrible ping time increases and  makes that area not very game \"friendly\".

Thank you

If you have sound on, most probably the leakage is there.
The problem is known and we are investigating it!

I don\'t think that the fullbright option can cause this memory problem, try to disable sound (and don\'t use the windowed version of PS due to a bug that I have unfortunately introduced) and see if you get further problems.

I was running the game in fullscreen and now i\'ve loaded it with sound disabled and it seems to be Ok :) Thanks
