Not every zone exhibits the serious memory leak, but the dungeon area on the coliseum sure does. I have been wondering about it for a few days, and finally tested it tonight.
Running top, I can watch the: VIRT and RES
climb steadily up by as much as 5 MB every 5 second interval (top update).
When psc reaches about 950MB RES size, my system starts to SWAP, of course, and becomes unusable. I have 1GB RAM.
If I keep top open in another window, and exit the game any time psc reaches 800MB or so, I can go all night with no difficulties.
I spent about an hour in Hades, with no appearent growth in psc RES. That clearly indicates a zone tuning issue.
Hope this helps others!

May I ask if you had sound on or off?
-
i have exactly the same problem.. sound is enabled, but it plays back only the combact music (when i attack someone of course). I\'m using gentoo..
-
Try to keep sound off and see what happens!
-
Sound off does help a ton! However, over about two hours of play, it did grow from 300 to 600MB in size.

That is probably related to some other leak, e.g. in the windowing system, which it should have been fixed already in CVS.
