Title: Troubles with loading up Planeshift today
Post by: restore on March 07, 2006, 10:20:22 am: i started to have troubles loading my Planeshift 0.3.013. i\'ve been playing on that server which is the new server since it\'s been out and i can\'t seem to work it comes up with the login i login and it loads the mp half way then it comes up with a box saying something unexpected happened in Planeshift: Crystal Blue Details: Exception_ Access_Violation at 0041AC3B and then it says would you like to save a diagnostic file. and i click yes. and that\'s how it showed that i could get help from this site. please help me i know it was working the last time i played it and now it\'s not working. thanks again.

We\'re not psychics here, so you will have to help us in providing the details of the problem. Sometimes there are so many things that can be wrong that we really need to know specifics of what is giving you trouble.

Made two characters, both get the 0041AC3B exception. None made it in game, but atleast the first one was uploaded properly.

Second of all, if downloaded from the main page, PlaneShift is guaranteed virus/spyware/adware free. [ We even have a sticker :D ]

Just don\'t use the mirror yet.

DAMM IT - Game crashed just while loading the map going from Hydlaa to the library sector. Can\'t log in, crashes when it comes to map-loading. I think there may be a kind of a bug in the lib-sector.
If you will please move me back to the plaza, I\'ll promise to keep my hands away from all that lovely books for the rest of the day.

I hear some sort of crackling, fire-like sound, then it just errors me, no matter what I change in config.

I haven\'t been able to log in once, so... unless you can start in a bad position, I don\'t know what\'s up.

If we find that your character was logging in in a different place than what you\'ve told us, and not because you\'re stuck but because you just want a quicker ride from one place to another, you not only will be jeopardizing getting a real \"taxi\" when you\'re really unable to log in, but you will receive a GM warning and further penalties may follow.

Don\'t abuse what is offered to you when you\'re supposed to be in need.

Otherwise I promise, bad things will happen.

Hi,

I kind of solved my problem by disconnecting briefly from the net while the maps were loading, and reconnecting it after a few seconds.

Hope this can help somebody else.

i havnt got to create a charachter yet.
but when i click on the program to luanch planeshift
i get this messege

it then comes up with error has occured in planeshift.exe.

when i try to update i also get the same error message.

please help me oh guru of plane shift

there was a problem with certain amd processors. If you try a search on the forums using the error number you provided, you\'ll find lots of other threads pointing you to a solution.

Keep in mind that this thread has the solely purpose of reporting which chars crashed while being inside Jayose\'s library and now can\'t join the game again.

I have run Updater several times, and even un-installed and re-installed CS, to no avail. It is the same Exception Access violation mentioned in all the above posts. I think I need a taxi. plz help

If you are having problems with updating to our latest client version, it would be easier for you to uninstall, and download 0.3.013 for a fresh install.

I didn\'t get the problem before I updated. I could enter the client, but not the game before the update. When I updated, I got this problem, and now both the updater and the recover mode has crashed, it won\'t connect too any mirrors, nor let me enter the login screen... this was really bad, as I like this game very much.

EDIT: Tried too uninstall. It won\'t let me, it says the uninstaller crashes when I run it, because of the same error.

EDIT 2: It seems too be a full client crash after the update, it has messed up everything, even the setup file...

EDIT 3: That smiling anime cat is damn annoying in this thread... >_> seriously.

Try running Windows in safe mode and uninstalling again. If that doesn\'t work, just delete your PS directory. That\'s pretty much how the uninstaller works, anyway, and then installing the newer version shouldn\'t give too many problems, if any at all.

Sorry, double post, delete this from my post count.

Done the system reboot, and planeshift has now never oficially existed in my PC. Unfortunatly, World of Worcraft didn\'t either... bad luck, m8. Anyway, I\'m downloading the lates version, but if it doesn\'t fix my prob, I guess I have no other choice than stop playing...

Character with the name of \'aroara\' has the same problem. (also running the new client.)

There is a new issue now that prevents players from crossing maps, and we cannot be teleporting players all the time right now, as a great majority of them are having this problem.. Hopefully the issue will be looked into ASAP and a fix will be applied.

Until then... well, Soverod and Aroara have been moved. You\'ve been warned though, trying to move across different maps will cause a crash at the moment.
