Whats up his butt he\'s not taking rat hide or eyes or tails. Harnquist the smith in Hydlaa

I am so flooded with this question in-game, it\'s insane :P
The dev team just today started tweaking which merchants accept what items - this is to prevent weird things like carpet sellers buying Trepor hearts. They aren\'t done however, so there is still some work to do and thus a bit of inconvenience to players for just a short amount of time. Bear with us as best as you can for now :)
-
Oh ok, thanks.
-
Lol, someone asked me the same question. So I told them to go to Oja for better luck. One person however is the merchant under the tree on the road between the two towns. I believe he would buy \'em. Might wanna try there ;o).
-
Thanks. I\'ll try when I get off from work. I checked this morning and the guy still not taking my junk I guess I\'ll just wait it out. I cant really go anywhere else. My psclient always crashes when I go outside the city. I dunno what it is.
I have a 1.8 ghz compaq evo. 512 mb of ram. geforce4 ti 4200 *thumbs down* I got it for free. I get it eventually.
-
Has this been fixed yet? I know you can get rid of hides, but I havn\'t seen a place to sell other parts. This has got to be frustrating for newbies who only have rat parts to sell.
Are we getting new NPC\'s or are they going to have one of the current one buy them?
-
or at the least let the death guardian buy the things... i\'m beginning to run out of places to stash stuff.
-
Rather pointless to play, eh. I\'ll try next month...
-
New and newer players cannot progress with out tria. Selling only hides is a real hard way to make money. With out money one cannot progress. If you cannot progress....well what is the point in playing the game? For three days now I have not been able to sell anything I have hunted. I spent a great deal of time killing rats to get enough tria to be able to hunt larger creatures only to then be stuck with parts I cannot sell. How much longer until a NPC will buy animal parts other than hides? I don\'t care if the NPC is clear out in Oja\' or in the middle of the hills. There needs to be a market or no real progression for newer players can happen. If things do not change soon, I will have no intrest in playing the game.
-
Well this seems to be a real interesting test in who can manage to live with roleplay only for a few days.
The majority seem to be failing miserably..
-
It\'s not that hard to understand is it? Harny accepts everything in the category of \'items\' and so on.
Take a look at your inventory. They are now classified as either \"animal parts\" or \"hides\". Sooo, find someone that accpets those categories.
Match up what category your stuff is to what an npc will buy, and wow, look at that, you can sell. Nothing has been changed accept that the loot has been better categorized. Nothing happened to the NPCs, you\'re just not looking for the right person.
It\'s square peg to square hole here people.
Also, since no npc has the \"animal parts\" category, stop looting parts. Stick to just the hides ok? Or stop throwing your parts all over the place. Or even better, try mining for gems or such, or, gasp, RP.
\"this has been a message from the \'OMG, use your brain\' foundation\"

And your next coming challenge will be:
Find a merchant who is into using animal parts for his business. Try to find out if there is even an obvious place where one could be located then.
You won\'t get a guarantee that your proposals will be considered - but why not telling us your opinion where they could be placed then?
-
I\'m always up for a challenge and I accept.
Where or who would want nasty animal parts you say?
Depends on the part. Tef claws, or ulber claws, stuff like that, can be used to make things like weapons, or other items like dining utensils. Kinda like ivory.
Some parts could be used to make fuel, clacker oil, used to start fires, etc.
Some could be used as ingrediants in a stew of sorts, or make can be used in alchemy or a stretch, herbal in some way. Akkaio, amoungst it\'s many markets would make an excellent spot to introduce these ideas.
For the more nastier parts, well who is too say eveything that is lootable can be sold, or that anyone would even want to buy them, hmm?
There is this bit of tidbit on the PS World Overview Page, I would like to referrence:
http://www.planeshift.it/setting_overview.html
\"Waste
Ducts that have been dug out in the rock are used to dispose of human waste. Larger rubbish and bodies are simply thrown into almost vertical and apparently endless wells. Nobody seems to care about where all of this junk finally ends up, since the stalactite theory is only devised by some Xacha scientists and has not been proven yet.\"
Sooo, treat it as waste and pitch down a shute, that is, if there were any. For now, I\'d say just don\'t loot the stuff.
-
tbvp - that challenge was not adressed to you personally - more to those who don\'t know how to spend their time without killing animals. I know you do know...
-
yeah, I know, but still. I like a challenge, and its really, really boring at work so I gotta do something to pass the time eh?
edit: oh, and thanky, means alot from coming from a player with your high caliber.
-
I\'m sure we are ought to be able to sell clacker meat to the cook on the second floor of tavern. It is obvious.
-
Also helping with the idea bouncing/spreading for future-use here hehe.
Claws/teeth would be good for simple/cheap weapons, or dining stuff as said previously, but I was also thinking maybe an alchemist could find uses for rat eyes, tails, and other less savory pieces of animals. Maybe grinding up the teeth and bones/claws into powder components with mortar and pestal, draining the fluid from the eye, etc.
I mean, Planeshift is such a high-fantasy envrionment, i\'m sure that parts and components are needed by merchants who make and sell potions and the like, eh? eh? Mix part A with herb B within a certain ratio to produce a poison, or maybe an elixir of some sort. Lotsa combination possibilities there, much like chemistry in reality hehe. ^^
-
I strongly suspect a sausage maker would accept any part of any animal...
