Title: MB Diary
Post by: Vengeance on January 04, 2003, 05:01:41 am
I know you guys are all frustrated by the slow release of Molecular Blue.  The developers are too!  We have been slowed by busy times with family at the holidays (which we should probably be thankful for instead of cursing our time away from PS ;-) ) and by some technology issues.

Much like Matze did in the time leading up to the Atomic Blue release, I will try to post here every couple days and let you know the progress.  Hopefully this will both satisfy your curiosity and make you MORE curious about it.  :-)

Enjoy.

Ok just to give you a current status, here is what I know:

3d team) Most of the world for MB is finalized.  Boonet is currently going through the character models and tweaking their animations so they look better and that sort of thing.

2d team) Working on alternate faces, etc. so player models of the same race can look somewhat different.

Coding) The RAM issue has turned into a big project.  The levels when loaded together take more than 400MB of RAM to load, and more than 250MB while running.  Making dynamically loading zones has been my job this week and will probably take most of next week as well.  There are several other small tasks to do, but mostly this is the major thing holding us up.

Engine) The new world has many rocks and objects laying around on the streets, etc. for atmosphere purposes.  These objects are a certain type of object in Crystal Space called genmeshes.  Until now, genmeshes have never been able to cast or receive shadows from lighting settings, so in our heavily lit levels they look very weird.  MUCH work is going into the engine to make these look right.

Hope that helps...

Thanks Venge, sounds wonderful,

Don\'t worry, I\'m sure by now most of us aren\'t really frustrated at all. We understand the time these things take, especially with it being the time for family holidays. Besides we\'re well used to waiting ;)

Looking forward to hearing more :D

BTW if you want this as a MB development diary only, just delete away ;)

Hey Vengeance,

At the present, enabling the sound renderer will crash the client (at least in GNU/Linux anyway).

Do you know if this has been addressed in the upcoming release ?

Thanks !  :)

2 things

1. when you guys talk about wanting to make it so everyone can play it what is the minimum requirement for that because I mean if you dont have enough RAM shouldnt it be tough luck go buy some cause for the people who do have it its just like blahhhh (sorry if this sounds a little arrogant, im not trying to.)

2. Lock this thread so that only Vengeance and the other mods can add things of notice too it. I think it would be a bit easier. or just over all add a page to the PS Site with a diary

Post by: Link on January 04, 2003, 11:17:33 pm
I agree, they should say touch luck, They should not hold back on CPU, Ram, Video Card, or Internet speed, they should not hold back the game just because some people are behind times.
Title:
Post by: Monocle on January 05, 2003, 12:36:43 am
There should be a vote about whether they should work on the ram requirement or not.  Obviously, if the majority of the people do not have enough RAM to run the game, they should not advance until this is fixed.

But even if it seems like it runs well enough in the tech alpha we still don\'t know, because there is no action going on.  With many people in the town and a lot of action going on it might start running bad.  The devs probably know best.  After all, this game can get choppy on my comp and it gets an 8000 in 3d mark at 1024 by 768.  I also have 256 ddr ram.

Title:
Post by: Vengeance on January 05, 2003, 01:29:32 am
512MB of RAM as a minimum requirement isn\'t reasonable, and if you guys think it is then YOU aren\'t being reasonable.  :-)  Most of the devs don\'t even have that, and they want to be able to run it worse than you do, trust me.

Sarth, I think the sound problem is fixed, but YMMV.

Also, no voting.  :-)

Normally I sit back and watch arguements, being the lover that I am :] However, I need to put something in for the losers here. I have a HP and I have a DSL connection. One of my problems is the ram, I can\'t add more sticks or increase it in any way because HP are nazis who made my computer in one big chunk so nothing can be put in it. Try to make the game as ram-efficiant as possible, theres lots of people out there with sucky computers, most of us just aren\'t in the financial position to do anything about it for the time being.  :(

Update for 3am Sunday morning:

Dynamic zone loading is working!  Halleluia!  Much quicker than I thought to implement.  Unloading is the tricky part though and is not done yet.  Anyone want to guess what Sunday\'s task is going to be?

Title:
Post by: Vengeance on January 07, 2003, 07:54:32 am
Well zone unloading is working now as well, but there are problems in CS with it, causing memory leaks (bad).  We\'ll need to track those down but god knows how...  ;-)

I spent tonight making the players walk backwards if they actually GO backwards.  It looks pretty good.

Talad has been focusing on the lighting effects in the world levels... I think you will like them.

There\'s the update.

Thats great venge Venge, thanks for the update :D Des that mean the characters will have lighting effects now?  that would be pretty sweet.

Although, i really don\'t know what much of this stuff means:baby: .
Could you possibly give give a *rough* estimate of how close you are to finishing MB?

If not, I understand ;)

We are targeting the end of January... but we\'ve had other targets. :-)

There isn\'t much left on the list that is major.  Just things like making the anims match the actions, debugging and general polish.

\"Finalization\" is just harder and more time-consuming than it always seems.

Just for the record, I don\'t mind questions here.

hehe, there are two types of release dates in the computer industry, the standard(windows 98, diablo II, etc) that keep getting pushed back, and the other(i forget who used it) which first says \"It\'ll be ready when it\'s ready\", for a while, then says \"It\'s ready\" and releases the games.  I am a big fan of the second method, but if you tried it here, you would probably get lynched :D I can just see the mob of link\'s drawings marching around with torches and pitchforks...

One thing that might keep people from bugging you as much is the miracle worker principle.  Scotty pads his estimates, so when he pulls them off in half the time, he looks like a miracle worker.

Oh, link, there\'s an idea for your next piece - lynch mob

Post by: Vengeance on January 09, 2003, 07:28:38 pm
I have spent the last couple days getting one-time animations to work properly.

Boonet has done a great job of making some \"greet\" animations for each race.  However, up till now CS has really been set up for looping animations like running or standing (which is really swaying and breathing in and out).  In order to have a /wave command or /greet command, we needed to be able to specify to CS to play an animation once, then return to the previous animation.  (For example, in this case you are in \"stand\" mode, and you type /greet.  CS plays the \"greet\" action one time, then flips automatically back to the \"stand\" animation loop.)

I got this implemented last night, so now everyone will be able to wave at each other. :-)

Acraig and I also did much testing of server, making sure our players could still see each other as they ran around--something we haven\'t really tested since releasing Atomic Blue.  It worked pretty well but took 4 hours of tweaking to get it nice.

The list continues to shrink...

so, vengeance what other projects are you working on?
You know, the ones that bring home the bacon.

I remember last time I asked this question I can\'t remember what you said but I did try that program that downloaded pics from web pages \'was kinda cool but I could only get it to  gain pictures from the surface page of the site and couldn\'t figure out how to get it to search other links on the site for more pics. It could have been just me or the fact that it was a demo I\'m not sure but anyway I was just wondering if you were working on any neat projects besides planeshift.

In my day job I run a small consulting firm here in Houston.  We have about 12 guys working for various clients, and I am the project manager and account director for 2 of those clients.  One project is C++ and Oracle transaction processing and one is ASP web stuff.

But Planeshift is what really interests me. :-)

Ok yesterday I focused on the animations.  In Atomic Blue (the existing public release from a few months ago), the only two animations were \"stand\" and \"walk\".  Now we have also \"run\" and \"greet\".  I put the code into the game last night to play those animations at the right time and to make sure they are sent over the network correctly, so other people see you running if you are running and so forth.

Getting closer...

Well us computer geeks, most of us anyways, don\'t do all that stuff, which is a good reason to give parents and relatives and people when they ask why your are always in your room messing with your computer instead of out running around on the streets. Plus good jobs are on the way.

Sorry for being off topic, but I feel compeled to comment on the recent \"carreer choice\" messages.

Just a word of advice guys.  Not all computer people make lots of money.  Right now the market is tough, but it\'s picking up a bit.  Be warned that it might fall again before you graduate college (or whatever).  I got a nice job out of college (graduate school), but I have plenty of friends that graduated with me (in May 2002) that are still looking.  Additionall, some of the really neat jobs (like the United Space Alliance and most game companies) pay a lot less than you think.

Additionally, the tech indusrty has many facets.  My advice is get experience in all the areas that you can, while specializing (or appearing to specialize) in one.  That way people can\'t say you\'ve pigeon holed yourself and (at the say time) they can\'t say you have no direction.  This means looking long and hard at what\'s out there and taking a wide variety of classes.  Graduate school is great for giving the impression of specialization.  I am not saying that college is for everyone, but I think that it is the best way for most.  I have a friend that is doing network admining for a multi-national conglomerate out of Houston.  He didn\'t even graduate high school and he makes more money than I do.  Unfortunately, if he ever looses his job, he\'ll be hard pressed to get a similar paying position with the current market saturation.

kinshadow is right about his points here.  Especially the part about the guy who didn\'t graduate high-school and is making lots of money.  That guy might be making a lot now but if he loses that job, he\'s screwed, and if he keeps it he\'ll never make more than now.

Another point in favor of college is that you will *never*, ever be around more single and smart women again in your LIFE.  (or men :-) ).  Once you\'re in the real world you have to start checking for rings and believe me, that sux.

Now back on topic, I spent yesterday making it so that the camera is at different heights depending on which race you are playing.  This makes the dwarfs very short and the Krans seem HUGE!  :-)

Tonight I am fixing our lightning effects a little bit.

Yesterday also we had 3 people connected for over 30 minutes and no crashes or bad stuff.  I believe we will have at least a dev team release by end of week.

Thanks for the compliments guys, but I am not the only person busting my ass for MB.  I am just the only one posting here. :-)

I\'ve been working more on lightning and rain for a couple days now, and it is really nice.  The sounds go together with it and it really sounds cool!  Of course, I could be overenthusiastic because it is once again 3am but I couldn\'t believe how good it sounded the first time it actually played correctly on my machine here. :-)

Hopefully we will have a dev release this weekend, and a fan release in a week or two.

There ya go,

Yliakum is an underground city. The inhabitants, a mixture of different races, also call it the \"City of the Azure Sun\", referring to the huge crystal that gives the city its light and supplies the land with life-giving energy. Yliakum is located thousands of meters under the surface inside a huge excavated stalactite, hanging inside a cave so huge that it could contain any kingdom of the surface.

This, plus other things (and images) are present on the website, explaining why this cavern is so peculiar.

I have spent the last 3 days on the rain again...  the server was sending notifications to the client to tell it to stop raining, and the client was removing the rain from the world successfully, but it was STILL raining!  :-)

Turned out to be a bug in CS and was fixed overnight.  Thanks Jorrit!

We are now finalizing NPC dialog uploading and getting Windows installation scripts working again, and I am working on getting all the new race models into the game.

Very close to dev release.

so since you got rain done and are finalizing the dialog are you going to be moving on to one large thing for a final shabam for the MB release, a couple minor things, or just a dev team test to work out any bugs that pop up, OR are you just not gonna tell us cuz ya wanna bug us...   :)

will all the races be in when mb is released?

I can\'t wait to be Kran! 8o
Title:
Post by: Vengeance on January 21, 2003, 09:15:06 am
Kran is in and looks great, imo.

Not all races are in though.  I think about 8 total are in, including a couple females, so get ready all you online transvestites!  :-)

As it happens I have spent the last two days getting all the final models integrated into the game.  They are up and working and look great to me.

Regarding work left, I keep thinking we will do a dev release any day.  We have a couple outstanding bugs.  Talad is hard at work at setting up all the AI for the NPC dialog.  Sarmaael promises us that he is almost done with the auto-updater.

One of these days... :-)

speaking of NPC dialogue, how will it work?

ah, an auto-updater, excelent.

like if i wanted to start mage, how would i know a good race that would compliment inteligence, etc.

Eventually though I can still train in other skills since the games classless :)

We are now finalizing NPC dialog

This is what ive been working on for the last month or so, when Venge first created this journal I considered posting what I was doing as well.
However after quick consideration I changed my mind as it would be quite repetitive and boring to read.

To answer Silverblades question the dialogue system will recognize keywords,

my personal goal is to make the npc\'s seem as intelligent as possible.
With the structure that is in place for the Npc\'s this is entirely possible.

Title:
Post by: Vengeance on January 22, 2003, 05:50:39 pm
The NPC dialog system will recognize keywords, but is MUCH more elaborate and natural than EQ\'s dialog system (which barely even qualifies as one in my book).  To learn more you will just have to play the game. :-)

I fixed a couple of memory leaks yesterday and we continue to get closer.  I have to integrate the other textures for player races, so you can all look different, and I want to make thunder a 3d effect, and then I think I\'m done with my list of pre-MB things.

to answer your question more deeply and less like strong bad....

when MB comes out there will be a whipe becuz of the large change in the game, there will probably be minor updates through MB that will not require a server whipe, but when we reach a larger update that causes large changes, such as change in the types of character statistics, there will be a server whipe...

There was a post a little while back (too lazy to go back and quote it  ;) ) about having weather in a cave.  Actually, there have been recorded instances of weather patterns forming in large enclosed areas, such as stadiums.  Usually it was nothing more than a mist or slight fog, but in a cave as big as this one, I\'m sure we\'ll see all sorts of cool weather patterns.

Well, part of the problem is that things that used to work sometimes don\'t :).  And these are not little things either.  Stuff like players not disappearing when they disconnect are show stopper issues.  So we have to go through these things even before we do an internal release.  But I think that most of these show stoppers have been removed.  Again the devil is in the details.

Writing/Designing the code is 90% of the work.  The other 90% is debugging it :)

Don\'t worry Renux.  when it\'s released I\'m sure that we will try to make as much noise as possible :)

Hey Venge, how are things going so far with the Mac version?  I haven\'t heard any response by Lightyear, so I\'m just wondering if he\'s been keeping in contact with you.

I\'m really eager to get this thing for Mac, I absolutely refuse to use Virtual PC anymore.

We are ohh so close to a dev release.  Probably tomorrow it will go out.  Talad has been working on assembling all the pieces together and acraig, boonet and I have been putting the finishing touches on numerous things (with help from several others).

We think it is pretty stable at this point, so we\'ll see how the dev release goes.  We have a server in Singapore setup right now, with more to follow.

Sorry for not posting for a while, or moderating the boards.  Now you see what the forums get like when I\'m not around.  :-)  I haven\'t posted because I\'ve been trying like crazy to get MB finished.

We\'re so close... then I can get some sleep!  :-)

I have a question for the administrator vengence. When you say your working on the characters for molecular blue, does that mean the walking will be changed because in atomic blue i noticed the walking was a bit weird. But obove that i liked everything else !! :))  (except you can\'t walk into the houses yet   )

Little update here:  We are hopefully just about done with the obvious bugs we found when testing with several people on.  The most I saw connected was 7 at one time.

We\'ve fixed some problems with lighting and with picking up items.  We also fixed a connection problem and lots of little things.

We should have our 3rd dev release by tonight, hopefully, with a larger level, so we can begin testing in earnest.  I still think it is theoretically possible that we could release MB to the public this weekend...

If there is an auto updater then coulden\'t it be released as is, unless there is some \"format C:\" or \"rm -fr /\" command run every time you try to open a door. Any future bug fixes should just be patched once ever 2 days or so(real bad ones can be patched in an hour if fixed), if people dont like that many bugs then they should come back in 6 months.

anyhow good to hear it comming along, good work on the screenshots :-)

This is a free project, which means no one gets paid to work on this, which means we don\'t eat if we don\'t have jobs, which means we have jobs, which means you are NEVER going to get one hour response time on a problem.

I hear the guys over at Microsoft get paid to do this... maybe you can get them to fix THEIR bugs in an hour instead, right?

U mean Windows aren\'t made by a thousand monkeys working on a thousand typewriters, sure could have fooled me  ;)

On a serious note, we all respect all that u guys do, and most of us are willing to wait as long as it takes. It\'s just a couple of ungratefull(mostly ppl with 2 posts) that think they have a right to demand something or complain.
I\'m currently going to school for comp. science so I know more or less what u guys have to go through to get everything working the way it\'s supposed to, and to do it for free :) u guys are my heros :)

We released the .003 release to the dev team today and immediately found about 6 more bugs to work out, mostly related to camera positions and lighting changes.  Also some of the characters cannot fit through some of the doors, so we need to figure that part out as well. :-)

Once we fix those, and some memory management issues, .004 release should be for you guys I think.

Title:

Or set a cool animation so that the doors fit form to the size of the characters. :D Or of course... screw the big Kran.
Title:

Or you could give out mushrooms that would shrink or make you larger in order to fit the door ;)
Title:
Post by: Ceonvan on February 20, 2003, 08:59:39 pm
Honestly, I doubt anyone will really mind if odd stuff happens in this release.  We just want something we can use, ASAP! :))

In the long term, though, you probably want an animation to let the Kran and other tall characters stoop down through short doors.  However, I doubt any Kran would ever fit through a door made for a Dwarf, so we may just have to live with such obstacles.

The bigger problem will be when a character is too tall for the ceiling...
Title:
Post by: Yann on February 20, 2003, 09:45:49 pm
Krans should be able to destroy a part of the wall if the door is too small...
However, i doubt such an animation can be in this game  :D
Title:
Post by: FMiddy on February 20, 2003, 11:24:52 pm
make a KRAN SMASH animation or make a ducking animation, OR make people be able to phase through walls!!!  :P
Title:
Post by: Valfaran on February 20, 2003, 11:46:10 pm
I think the ducking is clever...perhaps small doors qould be useful for Dwarven guild halls...it would be pretty darn hard to get in to steal something if you\'re not 3 feet tall! Although, it would be a useful skill if high-level thieves can \"grease the door\" or something of the sort, and fit through small doors that one might not usually be able to enter.
Title:
Post by: Grey on February 21, 2003, 01:11:18 am
hehe.  I get this picture in my head of a fat dwarven thief who gets out the oil dripper and instead of oiling the hinges of the door he greases himself up so that he can fit his lard ass through.  :]

Post by: Alaron on February 22, 2003, 03:52:59 am
Something I noticed in .004. There is no masking for PW\'s. If memory serves me correctly, that should be as simple as changing the input type for the password, from text, to password. Which would auto-mask (using *\'s). Of course, I could be thinking of HTML form elements, which is what you\'d have to do in that situation.

Anyway, is .004 Molecular Blue? Or is there another release \'scheduled\' to be MB?

BTW - I\'m new here, so howdy to everyone :D

Title:
Post by: Crimson on February 22, 2003, 01:13:35 pm
If you look closely (this may just be me) you can see there going smaller to bigger grades of things,

atomic blue

(atom, a very very very small single particle)

molecular blue

(molecule, is a group of atoms joint together)

? blue

(what comes after a molecule?)
Title:
Post by: Chlerval on February 22, 2003, 01:44:39 pm
There are more things that could be after that, but there are still differences of size.
E.g. Group of molecules (like with 4th stage proteins), organelles (or parts of them), compexes (like with EDTA),  Salts/cristals (but these are often not molecules or are 1 molecule (diamond is 1 molecule)) or cells (to keep it simple).

It would also be wise to choose right for future releases

Title:
Post by: Crimson on February 22, 2003, 05:08:22 pm
never by the looks of things, or at least a very long time. I have to say im dissapointed that its taking so long to release molecular blue. The fact that the devs decided not to put atomic on to the new server made most of us think molecular blue was a very short way away, but alas it has been nearly 3 weeks and no sign of the newer tech demo. Most of the devs were hinting to a very quick release but as you can see that is not the case. In future I hope they give a reasonable estimate before they get our hopes up.

I think its great that this is free (and it better stay that way *shakes his fist*) but the devs could at least have the decency not to get our hopes up :(:(:(
Title:
Post by: boonet on February 22, 2003, 05:29:48 pm
Talking about decency, I think it\'s far more decent not complaining about what someone is doing in his spare time and for free. If you don\'t have enough patience to wait, you can a) help us being faster b) go play some pay2play game. Every other attitude just seems unreasonably arrogant to me.

well, they tell you what they think when they think it, they didn\'t know they would have a lot more bugs to sort out, so would you rather them not update us at all?

Games you pay for release dates are pushed back all of the time, and what happens when people rush them? it turns out buggy and terrible...and that is when their earning money for it
Title:
Post by: Alaron on February 22, 2003, 05:54:45 pm
I agree with Boonet, complaining about what someone does in their spare time is ridiculous, and rather arrogant. This is free, they are doing this as a \'hobby\' for all intents and purposes. If I could code a lick, I\'d help out in a heart-beat, alas my only real skill is in coding webpages ( I can\'t draw to save my life, and I don\'t know any C++ :( ).

So there it is, unless you can code, or want to contribute some other way, then stop complaining. BTW, if you\'re helping with something NOT code related (ie: not working with the physical code of the game) then don\'t bother complaining either. As it won\'t do any good if for say you\'ve decided to help with the webpage. It won\'t speed the game\'s development up in the slightest.

Alaron

I agree. Like all these people that come in here and rush the release, complain about how the game sucks when they only played the TECH Demo, and then come in here saying they want MB right away so they can probably riticule that one.

This is a free project, I am tired of people whining and complaining about this game, Like Boonet said: Dont like it, then leave.

But I am curious, about how far along are you guys on MB and what, in your eyes, still needs to be done? Possibly give us a list of features that you want to have implemented, make the ones that aren\'t yet in (but are going to be in) in like red, the rest in green, those only part-way done in orange something like this:

Well I don\'t think everyone needs to be lurking around on the CVS, doesn\'t matter anyways, they don\'t put alot of stuff on it anymore since everyone knows where it is.

Lately all the devs have been taking a vacation from PS in order to annoy all the people whining about where MB is.  Probably in a week or two we will start again...

Seriously though, we\'ve been working our butts off.  The only real remaining issues are still having it use too much memory, and a couple of sound effect issues.

One of these days it will be out.

On the subject of not slipping release dates, I have tried to take the tack of just telling you what I know and how close I feel like we are getting, rather than telling you guys nothing.  If you get your hopes up because of a date or statement I\'ve thrown out, you\'re wasting your energy.  Just read the info and feel better that you got an update.  When it is out you will know.  :-)

Notice it\'s only the new people who weren\'t here waiting for the first realease that are asking for a release date, we all saw what happens when you promise a date.

Ehy, that doesn\'t apply for every n00b here  :D

I\'m patiently waiting for these new realese without complaining a bit  :P

Ah, just a question: I\'ve read that PS has won a server. Is this server down now because of the new release or because it has just closed? I didn\'t understand just that :D

To add a point to CEO Loide\'s post.

Or is the new server up and running, but we\'re waiting on MB to be able to make use of it?

Yea, the server is up, they just don\'t have the current release on it (AB) because the other one went down when MB was supposedly about finished.

Oh well, I\'m CEO of nothing, actually...

That\'s an heritage from my first CS clan, founded by me.

They were originally called Camper E Oltre (Campers and Beyond) and I was the clan leader of them. I\'m very proud of that \"tag\" :D

Loide is a short form of an italian word... a not very nice one...

The good news of the day is that Lightyear finally got the Mac port working.  (Yay!)

The bad news is that it is incredibly slow, due to some kind of Mac/OpenGl driver thing.  He is now focusing on that.

Since last year I\'ve been scratching on my wall how many days have passed since I\'ve been here.  I don\'t have a wall anymore, so anyone whos been here less than 2 weeks and is bitching for them to speed the release better shut up, before I crack the whip of my powers as Lead Viking and subject of King Link!  Secondly, how many times do they need to tell you they volunteer, stop complaining and if you want it to come out faster join the team.

Yeah, we should love them for it, and I must say thanks again for the great effort. I\'m pretty sure that this game is gonna rock (it will, sooner or later) :)
Good luck devs.

It WILL rock, that\'s for sure.

If not, they can always put a railgun in it so people will enjoy the game more...

Ah, I understand how much effort does take such a project. I\'m Developer of an Italian UO shard, I work for free and for the happyness of my players. I understand everything you are going through...

Title: MB diary

Dammit people, this was supposed to be an MB diary thread....
It\'s actually quite annoying to hope to read some good info on MB and only see posts from ranting savages :)

Isn\'t there an option to make a thread post only for dedicated members?
Title:
Post by: FMiddy on February 26, 2003, 04:14:47 pm
shush boy, be thankful, I wanna hear some praise in your post. :D  and just wait till you see the most recent poster as Venge, then look, theres the info you wanted, and anyway, theres probably only 1 more page to the MB Diary until it closes where the new diary of the new release will begin.

Yea, uh, venge made it clear he wanted posts in the thread....if you would read the first few posts you would know that

So quit your complaining

Kiern apart from \'Just for the record, I don\'t mind questions here.\' i didnt find any line that encourages people to talk nonsense in this thread. I personally would also favor a thread where only devs post (or if you allow players to post their questions at least clear out the non relevant ones).
Title:
Post by: Kiern on February 26, 2003, 07:58:30 pm
Its not that hard, you find the latest update venge made and read the progress there, you don\'t need to read the older ones because they are old and do not apply to right now.
Title:
Post by: Keldorn on February 26, 2003, 09:42:29 pm

Since Venge appears not to update here so often anymore I\'d like to give you a small update of what we\'re doing now. The main issues we are having now are two server crashes. With those server crashes there is no way we can release MB at this moment. So we\'re doing our very best to try to fix those crashes.

Aside from these crashes MB is actually ready.

So that\'s basically it :-)

Awesome! I can\'t wait. Hopefully the servers get put back up soon.

Do you know what caused the crash though? (ie: just general hardware failure, DDoS Attacks, DoS Attacks, just some fluke, etc)

Well good luck with the servers. I\'m excited! :D Wish I could help you guys code. But I don\'t know any code :(

I\'m talking about programming bugs here. i.e. we are busy trying to get the new server for MB up but there are bugs in it that we need to solve. It crashes too easily right now.
