I\'m not really sure what you mean with PS Icons, my guess is some sort of avatar from your in-game character. Since my in-game character doesn\'t look anything like it should look, race isn\'t available yet, I\'ll pass on that.
What I wanted to say is ... In Photoshop CS save your file as a .gif and make sure the box infront of \'transparancy\' is marked ;) Other file types tend to replace transparant backgrounds with white ones.

My general avatar on TDC forums (http://thedragoncouncil.free.fr/phpBB2/index.php) is this:

What do you mean by PS icons? Please clarify :)
-
He means the icon image that is used for .exe files
-
In that case, all one has to do is search through the Fan Art forum.

As you can see from the piccie i have gone for the everlasting, classic default look...

here is a copy/paste of mine:
charles@plastic ~/PS/test $ ./psclient

Here\'s the icon I use for the link to my dev dir:

It\'s actually on our CVS. :) Grab the ps-gem.ico (http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/*checkout*/planeshift/planeshift/support/icons/ps-gem.ico) in /support/icons/ (http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/planeshift/planeshift/support/icons/)
We really should be using this, instead of the other low-quality one.

But with mine the yellow really brings out the subtle greeny blue hues of the background, and dot get me started on the grey....

And my post is what would be behind an icon, if I had one, it\'s just that iceWM doesn\'t have desktop icons....

maybe you save it in the wrong format... jpg can\'t handle transperancy
-
I use the old one too. I was still a noob at computers when I dwnloaded this, some I created a shortcut, then had to search through the /art directory for the icon img. Now I realize that you can just copy & paste it from the start menu :P

Hey Peacer, are you havin\' a nice day? or what?
If you do not flatten your image, then the background can be transparent.
JPEG saving tends to flatten it automatically--gif, and I believe jpeg2000 can have t-backs, but you are limited to what you can use in forums and for icons (due to file size). Try the other formats, or create an image with out any background--still must be careful, jpeg saving sometimes flattens the image to create a background.
(Hint: use the ps help--not always helpful. I vaguely remember a way to set your saves so the image isn\'t flattened, but I\'m not sure it is for jpeg.)
[See the second post on this page by Zan regarding .gif]

Ah, yes, the PS icon. I agree that it should be changed for both, PS executable and PS website.
Even the current yellow version seems to be a low-color version of this:

I found it on the old PS website.

I'm changing mine to that one, it looks much better, the other one is 256 colors I think. :innocent:
