Title: Sudden Connect Issues

Well I got the game last night and I\'ve been playing it most of the day.  I was comming out of the sewers when the game crashed.  no biggie.  Rebooted and tried to play and all of a sudden I can\'t connect.  I tried updating but it won\'t connect.  Tried uninstaling/reinstalling and rebooting and still no luck.  Made sure port 7777 is open on the firewall and I just can\'t play.  The server seems to be up and running ok, but I was wondering if there are any other things to try other than what\'s in the sticky.

I just don\'t understand how it could go from playing fine to not connecting all of a sudden.

What do you mean by not connecting? Is it not letting you log into your account at all, meaning where you can see your list of characters, or just connect and load the game world, due to some error? As you crashed in the sewers, I suspect that your problem is the latter - I somehow fear that you have an old, bad copy of zoneinfo.xml. Can you try running the updater in recover mode?

It\'s a well known bug that you can\'t login again,
when you get stuck at the sewer-entrance.

There is an easy solution.
You\'re character needs to be moved by a Game Master.
After this you can play again.

Best way to contact a Game Master is by using IRC
or make a new character and file a petition for moving you\'re old character.

I think that\'s what needs to happen to mine then. . .if the path to the sewers from out of town is a long stone hallway.

I\'ve been able to log in to it but the game always freezes up, with a black silhouette over the character instead of the actual model.

My system monitor shows a massive surge of memory (around 600 or so MB) during the freeze. I would take screenshots if possible but have no place to host them.

This no longer seems like a server issue, so I am moving the thread. StarsAndBars, can you post your system specs, mention if you have updated (perhaps in recover mode), provide greater detail about the freeze (any errors? Messages?) and perhaps your character\'s name?

This was already handled by a GM.

I don\'t consider it an issue now.
