Is there any way to dum down the graphics other than the addaptive camera?

Yes.

Launch planeshift setup (start-all programs-planeshift-planeshift setup)

Go to texture downsampling, and move the slider a bit to the right.

Before doing that, and loosing quality on graphics, you\'d check if your computer meets the minimum requirements, if new drivers for graphics card improve your performance, or if disabling sounds once in game makes the game run smoother for you.

You can also drop the resolution down to 800x600 in the setup.
