the client is more stable, not so easy to crash, and I love the PlaneShift Tutorial
The graphic seems be improved a litter, \'cause it\'s more pretty in my computer.
I\'m gonna find more cool stuff :)

if you want it to be even nicer looking, go into pssetup and crank up the antialiasing and the anistropic filtering :D

What do those do, anyway?

I\'m running Linux and have no time to build from CVS... seems i have to wait till the final releas :(
Could someone post a rough list of new features?

You can always read the CVS history (http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/*checkout*/planeshift/planeshift/docs/history.txt), though with recent SourceForge issues the public version is 12 freakin\' days out of date...
I\'ll see if I can slap together a simplified changelog at some point.

Easiest explanation (without all the technical stuff) is to see the difference with screenshots.
This is a screenshot from Half-Life 2 without anti-aliasing enabled:
No Anti-Aliasing (http://www.xbitlabs.com/images/video/geforce-7800/HL2_0x_X850.jpg)
And this is with 4x Anti-Aliasing:
4x FSAA (http://www.xbitlabs.com/images/video/geforce-7800/HL2_4x_X850.jpg)
This is a screenshot from Half-Life 2 without Anisotropic Filtering enabled. Only Trilinear Filtering is used:
No Anisotropic Filtering (http://www.hardocp.com/images/articles/1128280140ABTiXJphEC_8_7_l.jpg)
This is with 16x AF enabled:
16x AF (http://www.hardocp.com/images/articles/1128280140ABTiXJphEC_8_11_l.jpg)
See the differences in image quality with and without either setting?
There you go. ;)

Personally one of the things that are a big news with this release is CPU using. Seems that Planeshift no longer uses 100% of the CPU all the time, hope that\'s a relief for our comp fans, and perhaps that \"smarter\" cpu usage can lead to new players being able to launch this version, when in others failed.

I think that we have all to thank Rhad for his great job. Most of the \"consumption\" problems were related to the sound and I think he put all his soul in fixing the majority of the issues.
He has been really great!

YES! this means i can play planeshift again, with sound on!
