Title: Mental Stamina and Mining
Post by: yhevhe on April 15, 2006, 12:41:33 am
Hello,

I was wondering, is Mental Stamina needed to mine at all? I know it is depleted while mining, but I got like two or three ore pieces in a row with 0 mental stamina. Or maybe it\'s a bug...?

Thanks.

\"Physical stamina dropping\" means \"you get exhausted\".

\"Mental stamina dropping\" means \"you get bored\".

The relation between them doesn\'t seem too realistic, probably.

The funny thing about it: Recently, I could dig with no Mental Stamina left, but still digged on, and did not receive a message \"You are too bored to continue\" -- so my char probably turned into a robot...  ;(  ;)

My take on mental stamina was that it is more of a "how well can you sustain your focus and attention" than a boredom thing, though I suppose boredom does result in a lack of attention. I would suspect that one finds less ore and fights less efficiently when mentally exhausted.

How quick does it drain?

Xordan, did you answer finally on this 4 months old thread? :o

In this case: Irunor, a rather young character with no mental stat even near 100, can dig 4-5 times, as Iamthom said; Gag, with all stats at the current maximum, could dig only a few times more, at most 10 times rapidly in a row (rather ~8 times).

You mean, when you turn into a digging automat, you are more efficient?! :D -- I rather guess that the new minerals do not yet have a reworked probability table, it does not yet depend much on the mining skill. And luck is just luck.

Ask Janner, long ago he dug a race with Kelden. Kelden at level 5, Janner at level 10. Kelden won. And he was always "the most lucky guy in Janners Way", a millionair by trading (mostly selling *ty thousand tria weapons) in times of CB 0.3.012.
