On advice from Bakuun, I am creating this thread regarding the Updater. I ran the updater this evening and at first it gave me an error-Ordinal not found, The ordinal 3 could not be located in the dynamic link library LIBCURL.DLL. After I cleared the error, I ran the updater again and it succeeded in bringing me from 1.1.0.1 to 1.1.1.1. It now says my updater is newer than the server and shuts down. As I enter the game, it tells me new updates are available but as you can see, I cannot retrieve them.

I just installed .14b tonight as well. I didn\'t run the updater after install. Upon login, it\'s been giving me \'updates available\' as well, but I figured that its poppingup since the version I have is differnt from the one it checks (most likely newer), so that is why it thinks there are updates, when I doubt there are. And I didn\'t feel like testing it since we were tod not to run the updater after install yet anyway.

Yeah there still seems to be a problem with the updater despite the fact that it recently got synched with the mirrors so it should be updating everyone to the newest client version. I think part of the problem could be for those of us who downloaded the preview, also caused the updater to be upgraded to 1.1.1.1, which I guess is a version too high for the updater to download correctly.
-
same for me, just updated the updater and now its coming up with that message every time
-
I am messing about with my updater right now and if you go into the options, you can bypass the updater check forcing it to download.
Warning: This will screw up your game at any other time, perhaps even this I do not know yet!
I downloaded a bunch of files, but I can\'t figure out if my client is actually updated. Does anyone know where I can find a version log? All of the file sin the folder spit out nonsense numbers and long lists of file names.
EDIT:
My client did run, however I do not know if the changes stuck.
In the version.dat I see:
75e267251fb7111e7b1615fbe90a0695 1145018100

Updater now working properly and I now have the 14b view. Interesting artwork!

i used the updater, and it also tells me that my version is newer than the server.
Now i tried to do some crafting and got told by a friend that there is a stock casting directly next to the Smith furnace at Harnquists hut. but i see no stock casting there.
I first tried without, then with checking the \"skip version check\" box, but still ithe stock casting is not there. Can anyone help me?
i am running on windows, and downloaded the preview (not .14b), in case that helps solving the problem

I too have updated my updater to 1.1.1.1 and it repetedly stops updating as my updater version is newer than the servers.
its looking at mirror mir1 , it couldn\'t connect to mir2.
Any solutions?
I\'ve checked the skip updater version box and updated a number of files (it was as a last resort) but still the updater problem persists. Fortunately I can now play the game tho\'
How do I fix the updater problem?
-
Delete version.dat from your PS folder, and run the updater again.
-
where is that ^^
-
version.dat is directly in your PS folder, no subfolder.
just look for a data called \"version\"

*Thank you DaveG*
It seems to have worked - accept this BIG HUG on my behalf!
-
yep i deleted that notepad thing and now it works should i keep the version thingy
-
Which notepad thing did you delete? Just version.dat should have been removed.
