Title: wrong torrent name? for 0.3.014b
Post by: mizar2 on April 15, 2006, 04:51:07 pm
I can\'t tell if the wrong torrent name is in the link at the download page (not sure how long it has been there) or if the file has not been setup yet.

The PC link is:

The Linux link is:

The MacOSX link is:

Since I can\'t see the contents of the directory I can\'t look further.  Also, using the forum search I couldn\'t find any posts about \'torrent\'.  I tested my bittorrent setup on the PC and Linux links, no problems there.

Not setuped yet. Its not long when Linux torrent was added. Im looking like every 10 mins. ;)

*sigh* And from Planeshift pages:

You can now use the updater, the mirrors are in synch.

Linux version is available, you can get it on bit torrent.

Mac version under work.

Yep, the updater for 0.3.013 does update you to 0.3.014b but the apps are not double clickable.  I launched 0.3.014b via the terminal and connected for a while, by the magic shop so the I gather the ojaroad bug is fixed in the updater site I accessed.

And after updating, the updater can\'t be launched via the terminal or by double clicking any more so it\'s a one shot deal, good thing I zipped my entire PlaneShift folder before this experiment.

In the version I built from source and filled with data from my updated/broken 0.3.013/0.3.014b the pssetup.app couldn\'t be launched from Finder or terminal, until I set the environment variables in the terminal and then I could launch it in the terminal.  No idea how to set environmental variables for use via the Finder.  Probably a special file in the app\'s which I didn\'t copy across to avoid damaging the version I built from source.

[EDIT] Nevermind, it works when launching from the main folder using \"./psclient.app/Contents/MacOS/psclient\".

Sorry for this : :D

Hey Mizar,

Would you mind explaining which path variables to export ? I suppose it\'s the CRYSTAL variable but I tried and failed miserably when launching through the Terminal ;)
I get this error message :
Code: [Select]

iBook-G4:~/Jeux/Planeshift3D/psclient.app/Contents/MacOS jocelyn$ ./psclient Crystal Space for MacOS/X 0.99 r0 [MacOS/X-powerpc-GCC]
Ported to MacOS/X by Eric Sunshine

WARNING: could not load plugin \'crystalspace.kernel.vfs\'

If you\'re a user: Check the working directory the application starts from -
usually, it is the same as the directory with the executable.
If in doubt, contact the vendor.
If you\'re a developer: Check if the CRYSTAL environment var points to the
correct location - usually the directory CS was built in.
ERROR: csInitializer::SetupConfigManager failed!
Is your CRYSTAL environment variable set?

I must add that this was with an old version 0.3.013 updated to 0.3.014b with the updater of the 0.3.13.

Thanks.

There is an incorrect vfs.cfg on some of the mirrors.  There may be information elsewhere in this subforum on correcting the problem, and I\'m looking into it on our end.

Thanks,
Daniel

Im becoming to be lost....

1) is the Mac version playable now? - at stickies from chaos is written NO, but it seems some of you run it already.

2) should we update 0.13 version by updater.jar or standard updater to get it work or should we wait for full download on Planeshift pages. And should we update now or wait for some post from devs?

PS: I tried java updater yesterday, and same as up in this forum, coudnt even lunch it. Trying standard updater right now.

to reclarify
i\'ve ran the standard, out of the box, came with package, non java updater and am playing this moment. All maps are loadable, no obvious bugs, does seem a bit laggy on my system but significantly less with the -fullbright option.

the full version complete download is not available to my knowledge. It seems that the update server has been loaded witht the mac release but i can\'t say anything because i\'m not a dev!

would be very nice if someone could clarify this for all :)

either way i\'m happy!

EDIT: interesting turn of events, things got laggy, i created an extra groffel/pet that was running around, and now i got ejected from the server and can\'t log back in. Beats me!

Same for me.   Just ran the normal updater and after a long update, was able  to get into version 14.   Did  not even have to redo my emial address nor  my password.

but today it  says the server is unavailable.  Well it was.  Now it is up.

But does ChaOs think we would gain by using the Mac related Updater.jar instead?

 :D

There isn\'t any major difference (except that I need to fix the zip entries option for Updater.jar and that you can select a mirror with Updater.jar directly). The JAR installer package provides a faster installation solution until a full package is released, however.
