Title: No religion selection in character creation
Post by: VMann on April 16, 2006, 04:48:02 pm
I think the religion selection should be erased from the character creation because

-The religion, unlike the house where you lived, your race or special events in your childhood might change during your life.

-Many, probably most, new players have not read the PS history and have no idea what they are selecting (so it was also with me)

-The black flame religion is not know in Yliakum (or is it? well, at least not many should know it), but is given as choice for all kind of characters in the character creation.

The black flame was known to be a fragment of Laanx, but it was not really her, it just manipulated the Lemur (and anyone else who thought it was Laanx)

In this case, change your \"Character Description\" (click the \"Scroll\" button in your Stats&Skills window).

Religion determines a few start-up skills, so it surely won\'t be erased from the creation.

Then delete your char, and recreate it - if you are so eager to fix your early mistake.  :baby: Or edit your description...  :P

Oh, it is already rather known. Not only Diaboli and related races may follow this one. Some guild even roleplays it in relation to the Dark Crystal in the Death Realm.

And you also have the \"Atheist\" option.

You know I don\'t really see any of those options as my actual character\'s past. To me they are simply inventive ways of choosing what skills and stats your character starts out with.

I\'ve always looked at the outcome and made sure that was corresponding to my character\'s background story .. even if the actual choices were completely not. Then when I created my character I delete my description with all the choices I made in it and made my own.

That\'s exactly what I do too, though I usually keep a bit of them because some are pretty interesting :D
