Hey,
I upgraded my machine, but kept my old video card. I also switched from 200 to Microsoft exp... But now every time I try to log on to PS It says I have no harware accelration. The screen turns to a black haze... and well you really can\'t play like that. I checked my settings and it says my hardware accelration is at full. I\'m not sure what else to do.
Thanks

What he says?
Let me guess:
\"I also upgraded from Windows 2000 to Windows XP\"?
In this case, you probably did not update the graphic card drivers. Windows XP \"out of the box\" is shipping drivers which do not support full accelerated OpenGL functions. You need to download and install an ICD OpenGL supporting graphic card driver from the manufacturer of your graphic card.

Also, check that you have Direct X still working. Rebuilds can sometimes mess up that. Follow these easy steps:
1)Start >> Run - type dxdiag
2)Menu should load, this will post all of your video and sound specs, extremely useful.
3)Video tab, do all of the video tests.
4) At the bottom it will say save all information, do that. I think you can copy and paste that information here. Please do not attempt to upload the file itself, and be sure to look through that to make sure no sensitive information will be posted.
Good luck.

It\'s almost certainly one of the following:
- Old card is too old. Please post specs so we can tell you.
- You\'re using the gibberish MS drivers. Goto your graphics card\'s website and download/install the current drivers.
-
90% of the probabilities it is a problem with your drivers. They are not the latest one for your graphic card. I recommend you to check that.
The remaining 10% might be connected to an obsolete graphic card. Once upon the time you could anyway play instead of using the opengl renderer with the software one. However, I am afraid that CS doesn\'t support the software renderer as the opengl one - if it hasn\'t been removed completely.

Is a GeForce MX2 (32mb) too old?
-
Just read about the dxdiag post before and a GeforceMX2 is pretty old but still might be able to run that game ..
