Title: [NOT A BUG!] Matrox Millennium G400 unsupported
Post by: LigH on April 17, 2006, 08:46:20 am
Unfortunately, a Matrox Millennium G400 is way too slow for PlaneShift, with the default settings I only get <1 fps in general.

I found a way to make the graphic rendering a lot faster: Editing a line in r3opengl.cfg
Code: [Select]
; disable the use of certain opengl extensions
Video.OpenGL.UseExtension.GL_ARB_multitexture  = false

Unfortunately, although the rendering is quite fast this way, textures are almost completely garbled (well - sometimes there are still a few correct parts).

See yourself these screenshots (http://www.tricospeb.net/ruby/pix/shots/)!  :D

Um... ok.  Nice to know you can get some things \"working\" with brute force alone...  :P  Though, just because the game loads, doesn\'t mean it\'s playable...  :/

Interesting shots, though.

Playable ... uhm, yes. To some extent. I may not be able to see the \"shadows of the stalags\" (which had been an important factor in some RP event). And I have a hard time recognising people.

I think Jorrit will find it interesting, maybe he has an idea why the textures are so garbled and slanted, I don\'t think that a lack of multi-texturing alone is the only reason. Especially the appearance of hides in the carpet textures may tell him the reason.
